ASU Fraternity members vomit milk off bridge, cause car accident

Quote:
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Police say members of an Arizona State University fraternity vomited milk from a campus bridge and caused a car crash that injured two people.

Tempe police Sgt. Steve Carbajal says the prank caused a woman in one car to stop in the road Monday night. Another car smashed into it from behind.

He says the woman and her 6-year-old daughter suffered only minor injuries.

University police say they are investigating the alleged prank.

I read another article that said there were 8-10 members of that fraternity participating.

Seriously? Someone could have been really hurt and it could have caused a bad accident. They might as well be throwing off big rocks from the bridge

Stupid.

Get 'em to drink something other than alcohol, and they STILL manage to misbehave.

Then they graduate, we marry them, and we get ticked off that they forget to put the seat down. I guess we're lucky they're even using the commode?

I'm sorry but I go to NAU, so I know a lot about ASU and this does NOT surprise me one bit. ASU is a little off the hook!

Why is the accident his fault? Did the car didn't have to stop. If puke got on the car they could've sent it through the car wash.

Um, I don't think the woman stopped because some puke might have landed on her car and she just wanted to check out the situation. She was probably startled and/or it landed on her windshield. I'm pretty sure I would have jumped a little, too. Would I have stopped completely? I don't know. I've never been in that situation. Either way, I don't think the woman said to herself, "Well, there's milky puke falling from that bridge. I think I'll stop and cause an accident."

Not necessarily, if it hit the windshield on the driver's side.

But talk about a ridiculously short (and short on details) article.

He caused a hazardous driving condition.

I once knew a guy who got fined by a cop for spitting off a freeway overpass.

He definitely caused a hazardous driving situation. There are a huge number of motorcycles (and mopeds) out on the road these days, more than normal because of the increased cost of fuel. Milk vomit to a motorcyclist could mean serious personal injury, whether because it hits them or because they run over what is in the road.

As a motorcyclist I expect to have to be hypervigilant about everything, and I take personal responsibility for driving defensively. But idiots throwing anything off an overpass is not something I usually look out for (although I try to watch pedestrians on bridges if I notice them) and it's not even marginally funny.

ANY non-clear liquid hitting a windshield is going to obstruct your view - which is a definite problem.

it's not that bad. esp. compared to what happened here last year. although, things are going be a bit interesting in the next couple weeks.

if there was 8 waterfalls of vomit cascading down from above, i probably would have stopped. And this is on university ave, it's always traffic-y there. i'd be surprised if an accident didn't happen.
