Post Good idea

Something my chapter does that is cool... we made an account at hotmail that all sisters know the password to and all alum know about. Everyone has put their email address is the address book. This way we can contact everyone all the time. We just go in and type a letter to everyone and then send it to them. It is also a good way to keep in touch with everyone. I can just send an email to that account and know that everyone can read what is going on. I love it because during the summer I have gotten daily e mails from all my sisters telling me where they are and what they are doing. We share the excitement of weddings, legacies and our personal lives with each other since we are so far away right now. It makes the withdrawals easier... it is also great for chapter operations. Our president sends out a weekly update of the things going on with our chapter to everyone and to the alums so they can keep up with how great we are doing!

My chapter also has an email account through the college. Whenever you mail something to that address, it automatically forwards to everyone on the subscription list. The only difference is that we mainly use it for chapter business. But I agree that it is a very effective way of getting in touch with everyone.

Cool

My chapter has a website on a section of the school's website. This section is for all frats and sororities. Pretty much all groups have a page. Our page however is really special. We have a guestbook for other groups to sign. It is open to the genereal publis and people interested in rushing. Then we have a link to a special "Sisters only" guestbook that you need a password to get into. It is nice because even though e do mass email....not everyone gets it so we post notes to say "hi" or what is going on the upcoming weekend etc...if you would like to check it out go to http://www.csus.edu/org/phisigma
All chapters should have a guestbook to keep in touch!

Since I go to a "nerd school" , all organizations are supplied with listservs. Our president takes care of it, and we even have lists for the new member class and alumnae. ListBot is a place you can go to get a list of your own. They're a great way to keep in touch with everyone; even those who don't live in house.
