Oh, that makes sense too, she just references a "Big 10" school, I guess we leaped at the PA thing because of the name she uses (Jennsylvania). And I may have to get some of her stuff because she seems hilarious.

If my calculations are correct, Penn State wouldn't have been in the Big 10 when she began school. But, that would have been my first guess too with her living in a NYC suburb.

Even better point, that didn't even occur to me when I first read it.

Actually, you're all wrong. She was a Pi Beta Phi, Indiana Eta, at Indiana-Purdue at Fort Wayne. She was a poli sci major, which gave her a degree from Indiana University, a big 10 school. She started out at another school, but finished and pledged Pi Phi at Eta, which is now defunct.
How do I know? I'm an Indiana Eta, class of 2000.

Wow, talk about worlds colliding. I don't post on GC much anymore, but saw the link on Jen's blog. I'm a big fan of her books and actually hosted my book club's "Bright Lights, Big Ass" meeting with none other than Miss Jen herself in attendance! She's funny, personable, and spins a good yarn.
If you haven't read her books yet, I recommend starting with "Bitter is the New Black" which is a traditional novel. "Bright Lights" is more like a collection of essays about life in the big city. Both are very funny!
