Mom doesn't think its worth it
Well I decided to go through with recruitment to give rush a try. I am rushing as a sophomore because last year I hadn't seen what greek life on campus was about and I wasn't curious about it either. This year I decided to go through rush and sincerely didn't think I would like it, but I loved it! Originally my mom's reaction was like ok, do it if you want and we'll see how much it costs, etc. Well today my Rho called and told me I got a bid and when I told my mom, she said she didn't think it was worth paying for. I understand its a lot of money, like 1400 in initiation fees and 6,500 to live in next year, but when added all up its like living in a dorm for a year. I've been thinking about things to do and I thought I can ask them to pay for my initiation dues instead of giving me an allowance, and then I'll get a job to make the equivalent of the allowance I get. I dont know if this will work and was wondering if you had any suggestions. Please help!
