SisterFriend with a question
I'm sure you've all heard a story similar to mine before, but I wanted to ask you - members of DST for your opinion.
Background:
I'm a 29 year old wife and mother of 2. I just finished my master's degree this summer and I'm planning to begin work on my doctorate next Spring. I'm currently a high school teacher and I've been in education since 1999, the year I received my Bachelors degree. I attended an undergrad that did not allow greeks on campus. It wasn't until after I'd graduated that I found out that I could have gone to a near by campus to become familiar with the sisterhood there.
After all this time and numerous successes in my life, I still have a desire to be a member of DST. Everyone says "just start attending Delta functions and wait to get noticed", but I've heard that some women get ostracized and completely ignored by certain alumnae chapters.
My question: How do you really feel about persons in my position, or those that cross to DST through an alumnae chapter?
