Protestors paint on Capitol

What the hell. I mean its bad enough they let them get so close, and even worse that nobody got arrested.

Protesting is a Constitutionally guaranteed right -- but defacing or destruction of property goes over the line in my mind.

I've seen protesters arrested for much less in the past.

I understand why the cops are frustrated.

I agree. From first hand experience I can tell you that people who work in and around the Capitol are very protective of it, and for reasons other than their employment. My mother compared this frustration to the feelings of the border control and national guard along the border, which I found pretty true.

Whatever...thats an unlikely scenario, especially considering that 75% of Austin was in DC this weekend protesting. Now, this kind of crap would never happen in an upstanding conservative town like College Station.

....considering I live here.....I see it very likely. Not all of Austin is liberal, tree hugging, coffee house goers like a majority of people think.

no but a good majority is. lived here my whole life, trust me, it's more than you think. even a lot of the conservatives here are more liberal. face it macallan, austin is the blue dot on the map of texas.

but on topic, i think it's terrible they were allowed to graffiti the capitol. protesting or not, that's unnecessary and childish. i understand that the police have to let them protest, but it seems rather ridiculous that they were required to just let them paint the steps, which they then had to call in employees in from their days off to clean. insane.

The graffiti was easily removed by the dedicated staff, some of whom responded on their day off to quickly clean the area.
Easy or not I’m glad someone had their priorities straight.

:::yawn:::

Why did their leader tell them to fall back? That's pretty damned stupid.

I'm just really tired of these people. Protesting is one thing, but defacing a building is just ridiculous.
