Whatever...thats an unlikely scenario, especially considering that 75% of Austin was in DC this weekend protesting. Now, this kind of crap would never happen in an upstanding conservative town like College Station.

....considering I live here.....I see it very likely. Not all of Austin is liberal, tree hugging, coffee house goers like a majority of people think.

no but a good majority is. lived here my whole life, trust me, it's more than you think. even a lot of the conservatives here are more liberal. face it macallan, austin is the blue dot on the map of texas.
but on topic, i think it's terrible they were allowed to graffiti the capitol. protesting or not, that's unnecessary and childish. i understand that the police have to let them protest, but it seems rather ridiculous that they were required to just let them paint the steps, which they then had to call in employees in from their days off to clean. insane.

no awesome like sarcastic like
"no one cleaned it up yet? No body did anything?"
Plus also awesome as in,
"all they had was paint...way to almost make a statement"
but really awesome as in
I think it is awesome that the police commanders had enough sense to know that if they attacked the protesters, they would be the ones in the wrong, so they laid back and let the protesters do what they had to do. And make themselves look stupid (protesters) instead of the police.
As far as them painting on it? I think it's stupid, but it is their right.
It is the right of the people to alter or abolish this government, by any means neccesary
I wouldn't have cared if they burned it to the ground. In fact, if they did that, it would have been more newsworthy. This is one of those things that makes me think everyone in this country is worthless.

I'm not sure your legal analysis would stand up to a criminal charge. They should have been arrested and deported back the the People's Republic of Berkeley, CA.
