http://cgi.ebay.com/ALPHA-SIGMA-ALPH...em300038651259

Is it a sweetheart pin or something else?

That is the "Mother Patroness Pin"...given to longtime chapter advisers or chapter member's moms who are extremely active in the chapter...

Knowledge Courtesy of...(you know who)

This can actually be given to something of a "sweetheart" as well. It is actually now called the "Crown Badge" (formerly Mother Patroness)for the Crown Degree. This is an honor that can be bestowed on anyone (male or female) who has given service to the sorority. The chapter may honor someone with this ceremony if they please; however it is not commonly done.

Doesn't it have pearls on it? That would be hella expensive to give to a sweetheart every year (not to mention a little feminine for him to actually wear it).

Yes. There are pearls at the point of the crown, which does look girly.

The Phoenix Recognition Pin (if they still make it) would be much better for a sweetheart/male advisor.

ETA: The pin was won by napowan, which I believe is Jamie...I'm not 100%, but I know it's an ASA.

If you email her and let her know that your a sister and really want and item, she'll let you have it. (Although I usually include how much I'm willing to spend [which is often], so if it gets out of my price range she can start bidding again.)

Who do you think FYIed that it was an actual pin, and not a pledge pin like he orginally thought?
