Lightbulb Bid Day Ideas

Hi everyone! I'm from Kappa Gamma chapter down at Florida Southern College. I've got a bit of a dilemma on my hands, and I was wondering if anyone could help me. Since we attend a small, private college, our chapter is somewhat small. This, of course, also means our budget is fairly small. This year, however, we're finally poised to take in a HUGE number of girls if all goes well, which means we need to have an amazing bid day prepared. (Note: Our girls get their bids in the morning rather than at night.) Does anyone have any ideas for some fun but inexpensive Bid Day activities? Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Roses,

Bid Day

My chapter is rather small too, this year for bid day we had a bbq at our advisor's house. It was fun, lots of alum were there so it was a great way for all of our lovely new ladies to meet them and get closer to us! Not to mention there was an LSU game on ESPN so some of us were watching the game and hanging out, the fact the LSU won was even better!

My chapter is smaller as well. This bid day we had 21 women in attendance. Our new member classes in the past have been 9 or 10. For my Bid day (fall 2005), we went and had a bbq at a sister's house, and went to play lazer tag afterwards. For spring recruitment, we went to a local pizza place and had dinner and played games. This fall, we went and had pizza, got to know each other a little and played games, and then we went to see a $1 movie. The new members were later polled and asked if they enjoyed bid day. They loved it. They said that they were tired of talking after a long week of parties, and it was nice to enjoy a movie with your new sisters. As far as the money was concerned, each sister paid for herself and a new member. It seemed to work out pretty well. Hope this helps.
