The lack of my eloquence of words could never really convey what Sigma means to me. I love that I am part of something that is more than just me in my little corner in the world. I love the fact that girls I've never met, from every walk of life, with every kind of personality has taken the same oaths and spoken the same words as I have.
I am humbled and greatful for what Sigma has allowed me to become. I was able to recognize my skills as a leader and mentor, I gained confidance, and I learned that it is possible to love something more than yourself just becasue it is so inherently pure and good. I am thankful for the good times, bad times, struggles, laughter, tears, and friendships I have made.
In my situation I am still honored that I along with 23 other girls came together at the same time, and at the same place on a campus that was willing to accept us, and bring Sigma as the only national sorority to our school. I look now as an alumni at what we are, and what we have become, and its more than anything I can describe. Seeing girls that never would have had this chance, embracing life, love, and each other must be what our 8 founders envisioned Sigma would be...and I am so proud that we continue to be true to ourselves and the prinicples and ideals of our sorority.
