Here's another perspective on the November 3rd San Francisco demonstration:

One important consideration with large demonstrations is that they tend to attract lots of very different people. The SF-IMC story indicates that 1000-1500 demonstrators showed up and 50-100 were cited or arrested. There were students, union members, and apparently a few of the "Black Bloq" idiots too.
The story you referred to has a lot of inflammatory rhetoric. Does "anti-Bush" really equate to "anti-American?" The term "anarcho-fascists" is a little strange too. I know a few people who identify themselves as "anarchists" and they generally seem to be non-violent people who believe that society should be less hierarchical. IIRC, fascism takes a diametrically opposing view, advocating an authoritarian state. So if he'd just referred to the "black bloq" as "obnoxious morons," that would have been more accurate.
