anarchist anti-bush rally/riot
http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles...e.asp?ID=15859
Interesting- far-far-left anarchists and anarcho-fascist persons rallied and rioted in San Fran- including a shut-down of a BART station. I hadn't seen this on the national news. I agree with allowing a peaceful protest, though I do not agree with a majority of the signs/slogans. Fully disagree with the violating of laws and such. Oh and- effigy burning ++ http://www.zombietime.com/sf_rally_n...3-4327_IMG.JPG http://www.zombietime.com/sf_rally_n...3-4340_IMG.JPG http://www.zombietime.com/sf_rally_n...3-4350_IMG.JPG |

There was also a post-election incident when 100 goons, wearing masks and gloves, invaded a Raleigh, NC, Republican office.

Here's another perspective on the November 3rd San Francisco demonstration:
http://sf.indymedia.org/news/2004/11/1705462.php One important consideration with large demonstrations is that they tend to attract lots of very different people. The SF-IMC story indicates that 1000-1500 demonstrators showed up and 50-100 were cited or arrested. There were students, union members, and apparently a few of the "Black Bloq" idiots too. The story you referred to has a lot of inflammatory rhetoric. Does "anti-Bush" really equate to "anti-American?" The term "anarcho-fascists" is a little strange too. I know a few people who identify themselves as "anarchists" and they generally seem to be non-violent people who believe that society should be less hierarchical. IIRC, fascism takes a diametrically opposing view, advocating an authoritarian state. So if he'd just referred to the "black bloq" as "obnoxious morons," that would have been more accurate. |
