Who will serve in the cabinet?

Who is staying put, and who is gone?

I believe Powell is gone. Rumsfeld is a tough one. Greenspan will stay put until he decide to resign due to age or health. Ashcroft might be gone.

Put your predictions here folks

Powell have given hints for the past year that he is going to go back to private life and enjoy his retirement.

He won't get rid of Powell. Its been widely reported, but not really confirmed, that Powell will not serve a second term. If Powell wants a second term, I think that he'll get it.

Here's a thought. If Bush wants to reach out to Democrats, and make a great appointment, how about Sam Nunn for Secretary of Defense?

Greenspan is not a cabinet member to the best of my knowledge. He's Chairman of the Federal Reserve, not Secretary of the Treasury.

Rumsfeld is carrying a lot of baggage with the poor execution of the "after-war." I think he's gone.

Powell may also be gone because of his feelings regarding the execution of the war.

How about Rice replacing Powell if he really does leave? Seems like a better fit than Defense to me.

I think Tom Ridge has been fairly ineffective at Homeland Security -- but it's hard to know if that's his fault, or if he really has no power. (Actually, Homeland Security isn't a Cabinet Level organization is it?)

Guiliani would make a good Homeland Security head.

A couple of Democrats wouldn't hurt either. Are there any in the present Cabinet?
