Bad Karma or what?

I'm not a bad person really I'm not. But I don't feel one bit remorse for what happened to my mother.

My mother filed bankruptcy, When she went bankrupt, she returned the car that I was driving. I was the one paying the car note. Sure the car was in her name. But damn, now I'm stuck with a lemon. If I knew she was going to do the crap I could have bought me a car.

Then she turned around and got a $20,000 bonus. Only debts she has are her mortgages. So I told her take the money and pay off one of her mortgages. She told me ain't I got to fixed up the house. So what did she do she bought a used van, a new refrig, wall-to-wall carpet, a laptop, and fixed the bathroom floor.

Then one day she called me from work that her money is almost gone. I was like I don't see $20,000 worth of stuff in the house She thought she hunged the phone up, but I could here her talking. She told a co-worker that I was not going to get none of her money. So the next day, she called me all humble saying she got a negative $1500 balance. She doesn't know what to do. I wanted to laugh out loud and say "That's not my problem."

When she had all that money she wouldn't listen to me and now she wants my advice and my money.

Well, I don't feel sorry for her one bit. She was a complete bitch when she had her money. Selfish, self-centered. She spent all her money in one month.

By the way, she claims to be a Christian.

Okay, that's my beef.

Yup! I'm a firm believer in KARMA! What comes around goes around, and like you, I've had some people in my life who have done stupid things and it's come back to haunt them. Most of the people I know owe ME or others money...but ironically one of them had his car broken into like 3 times, and the other was carjacked. I am not a bitter person - nor do I wish bad things upon people. But money makes people greedy...and things happen for a reason!

I hope she learns a lesson from this. Wish I could give some advice, but I'd be pissed if I were in your shoes too!

Strive, I think our mothers are related! When they got cash you don't hear from them but when YOU need a little money, their azz is screaming "BROKE!"

And hell no I would not give her money to cover her bills. She made her bed now let her lie in it!

I believe in Karma and also that G-d does NOT like UGLY!

My mother has filed bankruptcy too. Apparently she got accustomed to s acertain lifestyle while married to my daddy, and whenthey divorced couldnt understand why she couldnt still have that lifestyle............

As a result, she lost my childhood home.........that may sound materialistic to many, but some of the best and my most favorite memories as a child took place in that house and that neighborhood. It was the last place I truly felt safe, hence when I have a nightmare, I often revert to that house in my dream as a safe place.

Ofcourse my mom has a big laundry list of other problems, but for all of her problems including bankruptcy she blamed other people. She's never taken responsibility for any of the choices she's made that has got her in the mess she's in..........as a result of this and again a laundry list of other things we are no longer close, and only talk about twice a month, and if lucky see her once a month, and we live in the same town currently.

You know I've noticed situations like this a whole lot among our parents generation. And definitely more so among our generation(s). (I'm talking the 18-34 folks.) A lot of people my age have no concept of money whatsoever and the boom of the late 90s did nothing to help this. Now that we're all nearly full blown "adults" I am scared for many of my friends. Their $30000 a year teacher salary will not buy nearly as much as daddy's $300000 a year rocket scientist job did. I fear for what it will take for them to realize that. Many of my classmates are in serious financial trouble because of overextension of credit.
However, back to the topic @ hand. Mama's karma came back around. Maybe this is a lesson for her. As tempting as it is, don't smirk and say "I told you so" but don't give her any $$$ either.

Your'e absolutely rigth about overextension of credit. My sister is in a shitload of trouble with 5 maxed out cards of which my dad told her when she got them he wasnt goingt o help her if she got in trouble.

this is why i dont have a credit card currently. however i'm graduate in december so i'll probably have one soon to build credit, but one is all i need for emergencies, not clothes and make up etc.

Strive I totally feel your pain. My mother is the same way, she has absolutely no concept of money. Her father was in the military and died leaving her a buttload of money....then her mother died leaving her a buttload of money and a house. Out of my mother's almost 50 years, she has only worked 7 and has no concept of money or sacrifice. Unfortunately, she blew all the money and refuses to work to this day leaving my dad with MOUNTAINS of debt because she wants to keep up the lifestyle she had as a child. I feel really sorry for people who want to live beyond their means and depend on credit cards.

As far as your mother goes, Karma is a b*tch. So just keep doing your thing and keep your head up

I worked for a mortgage company for a few years (intern) and you would not believe the amount of people who live in huge homes and drive jags, but are $150k in the hole. It is funny to me, that these people care so much about an image of wealth, that they would risk everything their family owns. I saw people get everything ripped away from them, b/c they floated $50k checks for cars and such. Don't get angry w/ your mother, teach her how to be financially responsible. It really makes me sick.

damn, i feel sorry for most of yall.

my mom is awesome. not only does she pay for my apartment, but she pays for my car, the car insurance, groceries, and all my bills. then my dad gives me money to buy videogames and dvds.

its fun.
