Songs at Pref?
What songs does your chapter sing at Pref (last round) of recruitment? Also, what do your chapter members wear?

At pref my chapter currently wears black dresses and shoes. We switched from red dresses a couple years ago.
The songs we sing are:
Bring me a rose
Epsilon song
AOII Edielweiss
It only takes a spark
and
Oh I have a Sister
If you would like the words to any of them just let me know! GOOD LUCK!
Roses,
Sarah

Let's see...last year they sang:
Pass it on*(the spark song)*
Grace
A Rose ever Blooming
The Rose
and I can't remember the closing song.
=)
All members wear black dresses and shoes. In the past our president used to wear red, but not anymore.

My chapter sang the prettiest song at Pref. I know that it goes to the tune of a christian song, but I cannot remember what the name of that song is. Here's some of the words, maybe one of you knows what it goes to:
AOII, AOII, Its a love we can't deny
Age to age she's still the same
By the power of her name
AOII, AOII, We'll be friends until we die
We will hold and lift her high, AOII
I have all of the lyrics at home (I'm at the office now), but that's the chorus that I remember. Its the most beautiful song and since its Pref that made me realize I was an AOII at heart, its my favorite AOII song!!

We also have a very similar version of an AOII El-Shaddai song and I absolutely love it. The chapter hadn't used it in a LONG time when I was at school and a few of us worked it out and taught it to the chapter and it turnned out BEAUTIFUL!!! I hope they use it again soon so it isn't forgotten.
AOII, AOII we will love you till we die
age to age your still the same
by the power of our name
AOII AOII sisterhood give it a try
alpha love is stronger by and by AOII
Through the joy and through the tears
we found our place in life was here
and through the closeness of our bond
of Lambda Chi we'll grow more fond
Though alone we could not see
what true love was meant to be
but by your light you showed me AOII
was for me.....
AOII, AOII we will love you till we die
age to age your still the same
by the power of our name
AOII AOII sisterhood give it a try
alpha love is stronger by and by AOII

That is fairly close to ours, here's our version:
Chorus:
AOII, AOII, it's a love we can't deny
Age to age you're still the same
By the power of her name
AOII, AOII we'll be sisters til we die
We will praise and lift her high, AOII
Through her love and through her care
She's the one forever there
Forthe love we have to give
For each other we will live
For the sisters and their needs
We are the girls that help you see
And by your side sisters we'll be
Repeat Chorus
Through the years you made it clear
That our friendships we hold dear
Through the laughter and the tears
We know our sisterhood is here
Since our love never ends
As sisters we're forever friends
As a family we have done
Our best to become one
Repeat Chorus
** I truly think this is the most beautiful of all of the AOII songs I've ever heard! Gets stuck in my head too!

How does this "Spark" song go? Maybe we sing it and I'm just brain dead right now.

Well I made the mistake, it's not called "Spark" It's called "Pass it on"
It only takes a spark,
to get a fire going
and soon all those around
will warm up to its glowing
that's how it is in A-O-Pi
once you've experienced it
we want to spread
our love around
we want to pass it on.
That is the first verse, and there are three but we only sing the first and last.

reply to pref songs
Our chapter sings the CandleLight Song for an entrance. The next songs come in the ceremony are (in this order): Bring Me a Rose, Where Are You Going? (to music of "turn around"), one single member sings amy gran's "If These Walls Could Speak" with a few words changed, IF (with AOII words), and The Rose. our pref ceremony music is provided by myself on the piano with my lil sis susan accompanying the bassline for The Rose on her cello....its beautiful.
our dresses (which none of us like) are a burgundy-ish merlot-type colored fabric with bone (yuck) shoes and panty hose
if anyone needs copies of the words/music for these songs, let me know. i'm the musician of the chapter.
Here are Delta Beta's renditions of these songs:
Bring Me a Rose: i think we all know that one, if not, lemme know
Where Are You Going?
Where are you going my little girl, little girl?
Off to college to be on your own
Leaving friends and family and things that you have known
You are never forgotten though far from home
AOII, AOII, you're the home that I have longed for and will love ever more.
Here there is something for everyone, everyone
Search til you find what you've waited for
Here there is laughter....Blended with Tears
and a love that continues through all the years
AOII, AOII, you're the home that I have longed for and will love ever more.
Then, in the future
When we have gone our separate ways
We will remember our AOII days
The Jacqueminor Rose, The RUby the Pearl
Symbolize love for our AOII girls
AOII, AOII, you're the home that I have longed for and will love ever more.
IF
If a rose can bloom a thousand times, then why can't you bloom, too?
The words will never show, the you we've come to know
And if you become a member, we will always be with you
Tomorrow and today, sister all the way
(brief music break)
Then one, by one our wishes will come true
And You will be for Ever A O II
