Dear Erica,
Having just participated in 2 years of successful recruitment for our Ritual of Jewels chapter, I thought you might like to hear some of the reasons our newest members gave for joining:
* the warmth and sincerity of the members;
* the obvious bond of friendship established among those already involved;
* the opportunity to have fun with other "quality" women apart from family, school, work, church, or other familiar venues;
* the balance between cultural, social, and service components represented in our chapter's yearbooks and scrapbooks;
* the desire to be part of something that their other friends had found meaningful (several of our newest members have friends who are Beta Sigma Phis in other parts of the country/world, and were recommended to us by those friends, via the membership and rushing department at International).
At every rush party we took the time to go around the circle to introduce ourselves, and the current members told why they joined BSP and what it means to them to continue to be a part of the sorority. Our guests really enjoyed hearing our stories, as well as telling some of their own.

We also found the video "Once Upon a Time" (available from International) to be very helpful in telling the overall Beta Sigma Phi story in an engaging and succinct way.
Best wishes on your recruitment efforts for the new Friendly Venture. Your members' love and enthusiasm for sorority will go a long way towards interesting prospective members to join.
Hope this helps!
