for the girls: MAKEUP

ok, so i read this funny yet distrubing web site about lip balm addicts (LBA)...and now im wondering, am I addicted to lip balm? I think so, and to prove I want to know what is the best lip balm out there?

I personally really like Benefit! The red stuff is perfect and makes you look like you just made out with someone...so whats your opinion?

Burt's Bees is really good, as is L'Occitane 100% Shea Butter (in the little tin - not the huge one).

Oooh.....I *love* Burt's Bees! When my lips are very chapped, I like Softlips. Not sure who makes it, but it's in all of the grocery stores!

I am currently addicted to my Gamma Phi lipbalm which has the most yummy vanilla-orange flavor... but before it was the MAC lipbalm in the white tube.

XOXO,
Annie.

I really like the "Lip Stuff" from Caribou Coffee. It tastes like mint.

That's my favorite, too! The only bad thing is, it's so expensive...

Cherry Chapstick, all the way. It works nicely, smells good, leaves a nice pink hue if you don't feel like wearing lip gloss or lipstick, and is cheap enough to buy in bulk in case you lose one. I have a tube in the pocket of all of my coats, in my purse, in my car, in my desk drawer, and on the dresser in my bedroom. hmmm...looks like I'm an addict, too.

that is one silly ass website.

There is a company called Avalon that makes tinted and clear "un-petroleum" lip balm. It stays on a lot longer and is less greasy than Vaseline. You can find it in health food stores or the health food/product section of your grocery store.

One more vote for Burt's Bees... cherry flavored, in pot form. The absolute best.

Re: Re: for the girls: MAKEUP

I haven't tried the Benefit liptint, but I have the bottle of Benetint. I have the red shade of Philosophy's "Kiss Me" lipbalm that looks like it's similar to Benefit's. I love it, but my lips are uber-chapped right now, so I'm in the healing process.

For anyone who has super-chapped, dry, or cracked lips (and found that chapstick isn't working), try this. Every morning after you brush your teeth, rinsh off the brush and gently brush your lips to remove the dead skin. Apply a layer of Blistex Lip Revitalizer (it has alpha hydroxy in it to exfoliate). Then apply a layer of Aquaphor ointment. You'll find it with the lotions since it's made by the same company that makes Eucerin. Most drugstores have a store brand version of it. Do this RELIGIOUSLY (ie. whenever you feel it wearing off, reapply the Blistex and then the Aquaphor) until your lips have healed. I have this nasty habit of biting the inside of my lips when I'm nervous, so I always had dry patches of skin there where it was trying to heal. I found this regimen on a dermatologist's website and have only been doing it for a week now and my lips are practically good as new.
