Question Egyptian Dog

Ok, as I've said, I am new to this site but I love what I've seen so far. Now for my question. I was taught that the Alpha's originated the original hand sign for "The egyptian Dog," that the Zeta's now use as their "Cat" hand sign. Zeta's seem to get really offended when my brothers throw up the alternate "Egyptian Dog" sign instead of the "so-called" traditional "Alpha Sign." I have not really found any research on the truth bind this but if anyone could shed some light on this subject I would appreciate it.
