Lightbulb Bid Day Ideas

What do you all do for Bid Day? What cool places or things do you do? I'm just trying to get some ideas for this year's Bid Day and any suggestions that you have would be great. Thanks!

Lightbulb bid night

We have a sleepover at the house for all the new pledges and for whatever actives want to stay over. The new girls arrive around 5 or 6pm. We always sing to them from the porch as they're running up to the house. We give them dinner at the house, then play games, tell funny stories, things like that. We give each of them a gift bag with their pledge shirt and some other little things. There is a "no alcohol" rule until 8am the next morning, so we usually have a champagne breakfast at an off-campus house the morning after bid night.

this year we gave little gift bags with a generic cup and a personalized cup. some post-it notes, pens and candy were included too. oh yea - we also gave them a t-shirt. it went over really well with all the new girls. presentation is important and these gift bags were really cute and very simple/easy to do!

we have as a Panhellenic a (what the boys refer to as) "running of the girls" where everyone goes to their new chapter for the first time, and the Rho Chi's and the Panhellenic Exec Board also run back to their chapters. At that time they get their first shirt, and then they sometimes get a bag full of little things, and we take pictures of each pledge class, and each sorority on the field.

This past rush following that celebration we had a little picnic/bbq type thing on a different field at school. We all went around said who we were, where we were from, fun stuff about ourselves.

(We then do our ribboning)

Then the girls all slept at someone's apt (we don't have houses), and got to know eachother well first. A little less overwhelming. We also have a no-alcohol rule til 6am. I have heard that they enjoyed it greatly...

GOOD LUCK
