Yes we did. My opinion on the matter has not changed either. Hopefully the parental units are saving up for a good psychiatrist come puberty.

I can just see us trying to pull that off with some of our sons. Two, as infants and young children, just had these big "boy" heads-- you know, like some tomcats have? Their sisters hardly bothered with trying to sneak the occasional dress on them because they looked all wrong in them.

The other 2, curly-haired with huge blue eyes, could have passed for girls while babies (an old lady to me while I was holding one: "That baby girl is going to break a lot of little boys' hearts some day,"

) but by toddlerhood, it was clear that they were males.

That popped out at me too and made me question if Sasha chose to wear the blouse and pants combo or if mom chose the blouse as to "balance" out the "butchy" pants the boys have to wear. I honestly believe that some of these parents are pushing or guiding their kids into a sort of androgynous gender identification which IMHO is just as problematic as someone who pushes their kids into a hyper masculine or feminine gender identification. Ironic really.

I agree. Same with banning Barbie "because she's horrible." They're stating that women who care about their looks are horrible...so judgemental.

They're definitely pushing it. This isn't isolated either. I have a friend who is a pediatrician who saw a child recently. The mom kept referring to the kid as "them/they" to avoid male/female pronouns. My friend looked and the child was male, but the mom said, "I live in a gender neutral society and don't believe in poisoning 'them' with gender expectations." My friend didn't say a word, treated the problem and let them go.

So, what happens when the gender neutral child gets "their" period? Or has "their" first case of jock itch? It's not just a societal thing - there are biological differences and the nuttiness of some of these parents makes me think that they believe they can supersede even those.

I don't think this is a problem in the very first years. If parents want people to "shower" them with gender-neutral toys, clothing, etc., I think that's fine. Once they are old enough to start socializing with peers, though, there's a whole new set of problems. Other toddlers classify people as "boy" or "girl", and the inability to do so may cause them to shun the child.
