Advice please- spring 2012

Hi guys, well my dilemma is that I'm a syracuse student and the greek life is obviously prominent here and competitive. I'm a sophomore now and I missed the recent spring recruitment because I have a lot of commitments and I knew I wouldn't put my all into it and I have to get stellar grades this semester because of internships and etc. But sometimes, i can't help but feel slightly jealous about the excitement that the girls feel. So the only time i can rush the sorority that I like is if I do it in Spring 2011 and i will be a junior by then and i know it is already difficult as a junior, can someone please advice me on how i should go about this process? And if anyone involved with syracuse sorority has an advice, i'd be soo gratefu

Are your class requirements, grade requirements going to get any easier as a junior?

Also, unless you are talking about an NPHC group, you don't "rush the sorority that you like." You attend events for ALL of them and keep an open mind during the process. If you're not going to be able to do that and only plan on focusing on one group, you probably shouldn't rush.

First the reason why I'm busy this particular semester is because I'm switching majors and i need to do well in this particular class before I can declare it and the class is tough and also because I'm interning this summer in a government office this summer and I'm required to maintain stellar grades and there's no way I want to mess this opportunity up.

Second,I'm talking about NPC.
I have an open mind btw, I dont have 1 particular sorority. I do have my top 5 but I'm not a fussy person.

Your focus is on your academics: that's great. That's why you're in college. How refreshing (little sarcasm, not directed at you, don't go getting all irritated).

You won't know if you don't try. Right now, you are not a member of any NPC GLO. If you don't go through recruitment, odds are that you will never be a member of any NPC GLO. What have you got to lose?

I'm in total agreement with 33girl: keep an open mind. Keep your options open. You are more likely to find a home, but it may not be with one of your (preconceived) favorites. It's a mutual selection process and you already know that your odds are reduced because you are not a freshman.

I call troll. Sorry if I'm wrong, but the writing style fits. As does the idiotic questions.

Agreed. Troll tried to keep it together for a couple of posts (?) but then look what happened. This troll makes Sibyl look like a total lightweight.

Don't want to say your real name?

If you're British, your Queens English sucks.

This person is not British. Her American English sucks, much less her nonBritish English.

^ Oh I know. Just sayin', if Troll is going to perp a different nationality, she needs to do a better job of impersonating languages.

I'm not sure why you think your second semester sophomore year is going to be your hardest/busiest semester in college. Academics are always important, not just this semester. Either you can manage your time or you can't. You might want to reevaluate whether you can manage your time enough to contribute for your final 3 semesters (assuming you even get a bid).

If you're only considering 5 chapters, you will probably be sorely disappointed. If any chapters have recruitment opportunities later this semester or in the fall, you might want to check those out, even if they're not in your top 5.
