Frontier Fiesta

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you guys know that my school(the university of houston) is having Frontier Fiesta this weekend. I have never been but i heard it's pretty neat. They have live performances all weekend, the fraternities and sororities also perform, there is a bar-b-que cook-off and many more things!! It is also to promote the university's diversity. If any of you live or will be around the Houston area- i suggest you check it out!!

Has anyone ever heard or been to it? I heard its the biggest college show ever!!

I used to go to the Frontier Fiesta in the fifties and sixties when I was a kid! We loved it! My cousin was DZ president and I can remember their "dance hall".

Hey hope you have fun. Sounds a lot like UBC's Arts County Fair. It's a big outdoor concert that starts around noon and goes til 9 at night, to celebrate the last day of classes. Before that there are tonnes of parties and bbqs all over the place. I can't believe it's next week

! Anyways they have lots of entertainment and all the bands that play are Canadian and the headline band is usually a huge Canadian Band - this year it's Big Sugar. They're awesome.

Big sugar is a great live band

I got a chance to meet some of them for a frosh event this year, they're really nice and layed-back.

Sounds like fun! Wish I were in Houston - I was there for the first time last weekend, and loved it!

hey mintyfresh!! yay, another cougar on Greekchat! I really want to go to frontier fiesta but i have plans this weekend and probably wont be able to make it. Hopefully i will get a chance to go next year. If you go, tell me how it was. Are you in a sorority? I'm not, but want to rush in the fall!

Hi fellow Coogs! Well I just wanted to tell you that I did go to Frontier Fiesta this past weekend (all 3 days), and I had a BLAST! It was really nice to see all the organizations at their very best and see our university coming together and putting on such an Awesome event! Well good luck to both of you in joining a sorority! It's one of the best choices you will make in college, it's a great experience
