In Georgia, Lawmakers Push to End Unanimity for Death Penalty

Saw this article in the New York Times this morning. It's very interesting to me that Georgia lawmakers are going in this direction, since it seems to me like the vast majority of states (and other countries in the world) are taking steps to make sentencing someone to death more difficult, rather than easier.

Meh... it's that time of the year again.

Legislators around the country are trying to make a name for themselves by proposing batshit crazy bills.

I doubt it this thing, like most of those insane bills, even makes it out of committee.

This doesn't surprise me; there have been some issues recently with Georgia and the funding for its public defenders office for death penalty cases:

The second story, on attorney Christopher Adams, is a really interesting read and gives some insight into the feelings of public defenders in the area.
