I'm reading "The Autograph Man", by Zadie Smith. Strange, but very interesting--she is a fantastic author. I'd also recommend her "White Teeth".

I just finished Half a Life. It was an excellent and poignant memoir. Definitely recommend!

I love the Sophie Kinsella "Shopaholic" series or Emily Giffin's books. "Something Borrowed" and "Something Blue" are the first two.

I like the Joanne Fluke book series- first one is The Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder. They are really light murder mysteries. The books are as much about the characters lives as the mysteries. And there are recipes at the end of each chapter

I just finished up THE AGE OF MIRACLES by Karen Thompson Walker, a coming-of-age story with a sci-fi twist (the world is slowing its revolutions) that is just absolutely wonderful. Very grounded, never skates by on the premise, but fully explores every implication both personal and global.
Right now I'm suffering through a cold and thus picked up a random book off my nightstand: TOOTH AND CLAW by Jo Walton, which is a Trollope or Austen-esque comedy of manners set in a society populated entirely by dragons. It is really, really well done and interesting. I thought it might be stupid but I can't recommend it highly enough.

finally finished Silver Sparrow after hearing a lot of good feedback. it was on a super duper sale (2.97) at books a million!
listening to 32 Candles by Ernessa T. Carter. I'm so glad I downloaded the audiobook b/c listening to the story actually feels like i'm having a conversation with one of my girlfriends.
