edit: I hope everyone realizes when you have your sorority/fraternity name/nickname in your username, signature or post, your nationals most likely instantly gets an e-mail thanks to the awesomeness of Google.

I do not know if ALL sorority hqs monitor activity here, but I know SOME do, and as always it's better to be safe than sorry.

Very ture. A good friend of mine served as some sort of a regional volunteer for her NPC sorority. She said that not only does her HQ monitor Greek Chat and other similar sites, they also have volunteer staff members who monitor the web sites of the chapters in their region. As I understand it, this includes Facebook and MySpace.

I wouldn't give two s**ts about what someone from nationals would think of me or anything I've said here or anywhere else.

That's the spirit.
Generally speaking, it seems like sororities monitor sites more then fraternities. But some fraternities will begin to monitor internet action (Facebook, GC, websites etc.) once potential risk management issues are discussed. To cut to the chase, an IFC member could most likely come on GC and say "I hate this and that, got wasted last night and banged some random girl, blah blah blah." If it was offensive enough, it might get him banned from GC. Yet his HQ might not say boo. But if they came on here and said "In my chapter, we haze", then little red flags go up at HQ. A few clicks and they know which chapter. Then those unpleasant investigations start.

A TKE taught me this one...
Heres to the girls that we like to call honey.
They like to drink and spend our money.
We take them to bed and they close their legs tight
and say godnight honey.

MoP,
I am not surprised in the least that this thread was started by a Sig Tau...
...CHEERS!
A few from my own beloved chapter:
To the drinkers,
To the thinkers,
To us all,
To Sig Tau!
--
Here is to you,
and here is to me,
my friend and my brother
you will always be,
but if we should ever
disagree,
then f**k you, my friend!
and here's to me!
--
To our women, and our beer,
may neither be flat!
--
<sung to the tune of "My Darling Clementine">
I'm an a**hole
I'm an a**hole
I'm an a**hole 'til I die,
But I'd rather be an a**hole
Than a [GLO's whos last letter rhymes with "die"]
--
We've also done some modified versions of Billy Joel's "Pianoman" and Bon Jovi's "Living On A Prayer," but those are usually specific to a certain brother.
Happy drinking,
Everyone,
Keep it classy,
-J.
