Lol, through this entire page, all I could think was, "I'm an oops baby." My parents were married and in their 40s but I was totally unplanned. It really can happen to anyone.

However, the episode I saw of this show featured a girl who didn't know what a "crib" was called. That was sad. She was so not ready for a baby that I couldn't even crack a joke. But when she said "I got pregnant because my boyfriend said he didn't like how condoms felt and I was too stupid to make him wear one anyway," my respect for increased. She knew where the responsibility fell and was honest about it, which is more than a lot of teens (and women in general) will cough up to. I have one friend who had an oops baby recently and all she could say is "Why is God doing this to me?!" Uuuhhh, I'm pretty sure it wasn't God on top of you, honey. Honestly, people say so much about girls "not protecting themselves" but I've met and/or heard of 5 different children who were conceived even with a condom (including my own nephew). I don't put much stock in them at all, but it's better than nothing. To think people would go without even that because "I got caught up in the moment" or "He didn't want one" just boggles my mind. It's one of those "I get it but because I never had that experience, I don't really understand" kind of things.

There actually is some truth to that one. The morning after pill is basically a superdose of birth control.

Or you could save yourself the hassle of taking 2 bc pills or the morning after pill and just take your pills correctly...

This only happens if the male pulls out before ejaculating, and the semen enters the vagina. There is no secret passageway connecting the rectum and the uterus for the sperm to swim through to be able to fertilize any eggs.

Yes, but it's a dose that's more like the equivalent of taking an entire packet of regular BCP's at once, not just taking two in one day. (NOT that I would EVER advise anyone to do that--especially not when Plan B is available WITHOUT A PRESCRIPTION for girls over 16.)

Thank you!!

Women can get pregnant ANYTIME semen enters the vagina.

I also want young ladies to stop falling for "let me just put the head in" "if we just fool around you can't get pregnant."

Does anyone remember back to oh, say ten years ago, when people were freaking out during the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal about oral sex being discussed because of the "I did not have sex" comment and all these kids were going to do it and it was going to be an epidemic? This wasn't the abstinence only era yet, but it is unfortunate that there's nothing discussed in between the spectrum of intercourse and abstinence. It also isn't just pregnancy, but STD awareness is important.

You know 1st-3rd bases...

On the OOPS babies I kind of understand, and I kind of don't. Completely anecdotal but I have a friend who cannot get pregnant for health reasons, and if she did she'd have an abortion because a pregnancy could kill her, or the baby (if brought to term) could have serious issues. Since she is young no doctor will consider a tubal ligation but she's likely to lose her other ovary so it will probably be a moot point. She takes, and has taken medication that would cause birth defects, and she was forced to be on hormonal birth control as a teenager to prevent pregnancy, even though she wasn't sexually active. Not everyone has a life threatening situation, but if she can avoid getting pregnant with various methods (abstinence, more than one form of protection, non penetrating activities) it makes it hard for me to accept all these "oops" when if someone really doesn't want to be pregnant (and maybe some people *do* want to be pregnant), they can prevent it from happening. I'm only referring to consensual sex here.

We've got user error, "it can't happen to me syndrome," lack of education, economics (though I don't know anyone who has been turned away by Planned Parenthood), and who knows what else at work here.

Oh and Bristol Palin is the new ambassador for the Candie's Foundation for teen pregnancy awareness and prevention. http://www.candiesfoundation.org/ Parts of the website make me laugh, probably because I am not their target audience.

This episode was, um, interesting.

So, in one house, we've got:

Prego Teen
BabyDaddy
Prego Mom
Mom's BabyDaddy
Grandma

Whoa.

And their house is DISGUSTING. Ew.

I love how BabyDaddy works part-time and they thought they were going to get a house. Riight.

Baby Brother's name is pretty tragic, btw.

If this episode isn't birth control for some kids, I really don't know what is.

Hahaha yeah her brother's name was pretty bad. But her grandma is a WITCH! How do you kick out your pregnant grandchild?

To quote prego teen:

"You are the most awfulest person ever!"

Really?

Reason #43,890 why she needed to stay in school.

Let me get this straight, the mother of your child is hungry and you tell her to go cook. She tells you her feet are swollen and you say "well you can't eat if you don't cook."

Uh...why can't YOU cook for the mother of your child?! You aren't DOING ANYTHING ELSE. And then she gets a lecture from her mother about just going in the kitchen and cooking. "You're gonna have to do it all at the same time...cooking, cleaning, and taking care of the baby."

Uh...what the hell will HE be doing in all of this? I swear I'm so tired of men being taught that as long as there's a woman present she's the one responsible for the household and the children.

Woosah. I'll end my rant there.

(The grandma missed the cup coke (so did I) and overreacted. It was very strange and kind of funny. I think grandma is just tired of all the preggers women in that house. She was just waiting for a chance to express it.)

Well none of them seem very bright, lol. She shouldn't have dropped out, and she could have at least done her GEE work. I mean, you do that from home! She was just lazy and spoiled.

The poor grammar in this episode made my head hurt.
