Will this pair of shoes look better with my Easter dress or this other pair?

How is it that I can OVERPACK for a three plus week international trip but UNDERPACK for three say ski weekend trip?
This includes forgetting to bring extra going out clothes, jeans, etc.

Why did my mother throw a fit and refuse to eat Easter dinner when I pointed out that her Honey Dijon salad dressing was SEVEN YEARS EXPIRED? I gave her credit for the Tomato Basil Vinegarette that was only two months expired and went with that and ate my salad...

Is she one of those food hoarders?

It's mainly condiments, but she does have a box of Krustez Apple Muffin mix that she brought down to NC when she moved from IL that expired when I was in high school. It's confined to the fridge and the pantry (a 2.5'x2.5' closet) so it's not like she's stockpiling in the basement. She's just convinced that certain things (mustard, dressing, "non-perishible" boxed & canned goods) never go bad. Though, how you can justify keeping it when you've obviously not used it in 10 years is beyond me. I'm careful when I eat over there.

My MIL is the same way with the ancient food. A couple of years ago, she cleaned out her pantry, and sent us a bag of out of date food. I smiled, said thank you, and threw that sh&t away as soon as we got home.

My parents had a bottle of hot sauce in their refrigerator that was over 20 years old. I didn't know whether to toss it or to donate it to the Historical Society!
I think most older people have a hard time dumping condiments. At least, that's what I've noticed with my elderly clients.
BTW, is it you or is it me?

I am guilty of this. Daughter regularly checks through the fridge and tosses (with my permission). I just don't go through the food like I did when the kids were younger, but I sometimes buy food like then!
I appreciate her vigilance.
To get back on thread....why do I feel guilty when I need to throw old food out?
