I posted this on another thread but i'll post here too. I'm an upperclassmen who is going through the dg colonization process. I've already had my interview, and i was really impressed with the wonderful dg women i have met so far!! Tomorrow and Wednesday there are info sessions in the ferg at 6:30 (we get to pick which one we go to) Then on Saturday morning we go to the greek affairs office to find out if we got invited to pref!! I'm so excited about this opportunity and would love to share anything that's happened thus far or in the future. I'm on pins and needles waiting for Saturday!!

Good luck! Delta Gamma is doing this the right way and I am certain that this recolonization will be a huge success.
And also cudos to Greek Life and all of the sororities at Bama for being so supportive. There is a huge positive buzz on campus for DG.
Let us know how things go!

Amen to this! It seems that everyone involved in Bama Panhellenic knows that a new chapter can only improve the awesome Greek Life options already available on campus.

I hope other big campuses take note and offer the same warm welcome to new colonies. (OK State with AOPi for example)
I hope DG has a great year at Bama. My gorgeous cousins were DGs at Wichita and I have always loved Delta Gamma because of them. I can still remember when I was 8 or 9, looking into a sophisticated 20 year old cousin's jewelry box and seeing her beautiful anchor pin.... I knew I wanted something like that some day!

Let's just say in the neighborhood of 500 signed up for interviews. Beyond that, anything else would be privateMS information. We're very excited for tomorrow. Beta Psi chapter alums have been waiting a long time for this day!

I'm so excited about this, and waiting along with the rest of the readers of this thread for any news about the colony...I'm actually excited/happy about all the colonizations going on, however DG has always been one of my personal "favorites" because of the influence of the DG member I idolized when I was a child, growing up. That isn't a secret; I've written about it before and have told many people. I'm a member of a GLO because of her influence. Not playing favorites, just saying "Delta Gamma - yeah!"
And Alabama - holy COW - this is a Big Deal in many ways. OK, I'll go back and sit on the sofa now. After I go upload a photo to Badge Trends, that is.

Son received the following email yesterday at Bama,
Dear ABC,
On behalf of the Alabama Panhellenic Association, I want to invite you to come celebrate the colonization of Alabama's newest sorority, Delta Gamma. For the last two years, Delta Gamma has been planning their return to the Capstone. For the last two weeks, they have met with hundreds of interested students about Delta Gamma membership. They will host their preference parties on Saturday evening and on Sunday morning, DG will officially become part of our Panhellenic Community as the celebrate their Bid Day.
Delta Gamma Bid Day will happen at 10:00 am this Sunday morning, August 28th at the Walk of Champions in front of Bryant-Denny Stadium. I want to encourage our entire Greek community to become part of this historic event. Our support of this new chapter will be an important part of their success, and I hope you can join us in welcoming them to the University of Alabama.
Roll Tide,
Ashley Getwan, President
Alabama Panhellenic Association
