I hear about "social responspility" from both the right and left, but letting that many people crash out that hard in such concentrated numbers is asking for trouble, if not a full scale riot.

Not only would this add to the cost of a program that is I feel is admistered at the wrong level of government (I think it ought to be left up to the member-states), but would add to the size/scope of that government at all.

And face it, people would come up with a way to cheat, this government program.

A cracked-out government program that is choked up with red tape and buecracy will probably not be cured by more levels of red-tape and buerocracy.

spell check.

probably...what did that have to do with my point that adding layer upon layer of government programming won't solve anything. I think it needs to be re-built, I never said wellfare should be done away with.

PhiGam: what social assistance do illegals receive? Because at my office, if you are undocumented, you don't get anything except emergency medical services.

Where have you been? Illegals get BILLIONS in services. The public school in my area spends about 12k per yr per student. How much do you think the country spends on emergency medical services? California alone probably spends billions.

Newsflash: That is just YOUR area...maybe you haven't heard that there are places such as....ummmmm I dunno... VIRGINIA (which is where she got this from) where in certain counties, illegals can LEGALLY be DENIED public services.

SO stop comparing yourself to 'the rest of the country'.

Prince William passes illegal immigration measure

States tackling illegal immigration as they see fit

If it bothers you so much, write a congressman and see if they can do the same for where YOU live.

Stop talking about it and be about it.

So you plan on rewriting the lawbooks covering executions huh? Do you have a surefire way of making sure that the wrong people aren't put to death or you just want to make it a blanket thing? (Starting to sound a lil' Middle Eastern here...hmmm..) Especially with most states that have the death penalty on moratorium?

You just start sounding dumberer and dumberer with each post you make on this topic.

California is hardly my area. Illegals recieve BILLIONS. Can you dispute that number?

I am not worried about the wrong people being put to death. The real scumbags are almost always repeat offenders. They usually have long histories of crime. The chances of an innocent person being convicted of one crime is possible but the chance of that same person being wrongfully convicted of multiple crimes and eventually receiving the death penalty is slim.

1. I didn't say shit about California, did I?

2. Show where illegals receive billions, and show where their funding is increasing.

You still don't get the big picture, your myopic view of welfare cessation is not surprising given your posture.

You still don't get that it's like a house of cards.

3. Your stance on the death penalty? Amazing and not surprising. Abolish prison and put them ALL to death huh? If you don't work, you die. That's pretty totalitarian don't you think? Maybe someone should lock you up for a petty crime and sentence you to death and see how long it would take for you to change your tune.

You have lot of big talk and most of it is mix of hot air, bullshit and slip sliding.

You know....? We have tried telling him that but some people are just hard headed and close minded, so why bother?

I give up and since he isn't adding anything to this convo of true substance, I am really done.

Thank you tho for putting that out there to dispute his bigoted stereotypes.

They are not only able to receive social security but also the new tax credits and stimulus checks. The democrats (Yes- not a SINGLE republican voted for it) made it so that you don't need a social security number to register for the stimulus checks.

What?

That doesn't even sound right...how do you get a stimulus check without registering a valid SSN?

There was a loophole that needed to be fixed whereas if you got married and didn't report right away to the IRS that allowed people to get money if their names and SSNs didn't match.

You ned to at least have that to file your taxes because you at some point, HAVE TO PAY THAT back.

I AGREE WITH YOU...THAT IS EFFED UP.

Not true. This is from the IRS website under the eligibility requirements:
"You and any family members listed on your tax return have valid Social Security numbers." http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=177937,00.html

According to the letter of the law you are correct. However, thanks to lobbying and many immigration attorneys finding loopholes it is not uncommon for illegal aliens to receive social security checks. There's even a book, titled "What you need to know about life in America" that details a step by step process on how to get social security if you don't have a SSN. Unforunately, many illegal aliens have been able to obtain social security cards (not hard when you have no respect for American law to begin with) through various government offices.

No, that's not what you said. You said "The democrats (Yes- not a SINGLE republican voted for it) made it so that you don't need a social security number to register for the stimulus checks."

You've made some pretty broad generalizations about people in this thread - and others. It takes a lot away from your credibility when you are proven incorrect and still argue that you're right.
