You put your Airbake pans in the dishwasher? I don't put any pots or pans in the dishwasher, cheap or not, because even though it has a "pots and pans" setting I find that it does a shitty job and/or ruins your pots and pans.

I can't imagine the problems would be the same though, since the pods are cleaning clothes and the pellets are cleaning dishes.

I used to, and regular detergent (liquid or powder) never caused a problem. Now I hand-wash the new ones with TLC, because I didn't want to take a chance again.

I believe so. Perhaps when you go to buy more laundry detergent you should check the aisle. They'll be with the rest of the packets in the detergent aisle.

The pods are a different gel. The pellets for dishes are pretty caustic - (very basic) so that is why they tell you to try to avoid touching them. It works great to dissolve or digest food particles and grease/oil on ceramics or glass. They can ruin the coatings on anything non-stick over time. They will react with many pots (example Calephelon) and turn them white. This is likely the formation of alumina (aluminum oxide or the aluminum version of rust.)

The pods are really just a very concentrated laundry soap inside a dissolvable pouch. I would imagine they would be fine for most things - but might cause problems in a front loading washer or not dissolve all of the way if you have hard water. Tide also recommends a separate spot remover.

Another reason not to put non-stick pots and pans in the dishwasher. (Or as far as I'm concerned, another reason to avoid non-stick cookware altogether. Not a fan.)

1.) I haven't experienced any problems with the laundry pods. And
2.) Yes, they come in HE version.

My washer is a front loader and the pods work just fine.

I'm getting a cold sore which is making me angry. I haven't had one in almost five years.

This has been a very informational thread so far. I'd never washed pots or pans in the dishwasher before, but had been debating it since the apartment dishwasher has a setting for pots and pans.

This stuff is the BOMB. It even polishes brass. But I ran out recently and haven't been back to the store to get more. this makes me angry.

Oh and 4th grade helicopter parents that get mad at the teacher for deducting points when the kids turn work in late. The teacher was shocked when I asked her to take points off my son's project because he turned it in late. She actually thanked me for trying to teach him a lesson.

Yes barkeepers friend rocks!!

Also non-stick pots are bad for your health unless you take the utmost care of them and replace them every 5 years or so. Never use anything that could scratch the coating. Also do not stack your non-stick pans unless you place something in between to protect the coating.
