Ewwww, are you kidding me? (TMI for the sensitive)

Someone told me that one of her students' grandmothers told her not to bath/shower during the wrong time of the month. As a result, the student has body odor.

Why?

Is it some sort of superstition or something?

Has anyone heard of this?
