Pin attire question

Why Debase something that is a symbol for what you went through to attain?

I know what I did and what I went through and it means everything to me with The Respect I learned.

Ok, certain reasons for certain things are secret, however, certain rules for where you wear you pin make sense, for instance. . .

Garment closest to your heart (ie not on removable jacket or scarf, cause hey you will loose it or leave it someplace)

Above all other pins (ie drama, honor society, or whatever, cause well, respect)

and, "only with nice clothes-never with jeans" < taken out of my former "pledge book" (and yes i was a pledge) (cause, well, respect again)

I would assume all sororities are the same if not similar and even though I am an alumnae I will respect the rules as given by ADPi nationals.

I couldnt find anything in my old pledge book about attire when making an interchangeable ring or charm out of my pin.

Our fraternity doesn't allow us to publicly display our pins or even let any know we have them. We attach them to the insides of our pockets. Does anyone else have this tradition?

In Alpha Phi Alpha you cannot wear your badge for public display it must be on the inside of your suit jacket and you should be wearing a button shirt and tie.

So as far as pledge/new member pins...what is everyone's policy for that? SAI members-in-training (pledges) wear their pin every day, with whatever they are wearing. The member badge, though, must be worn with pin attire, and khakis are dressy enough for us.

The attire for the new member pin is the same as the badge. Suits, dress pants and a nice top-job interview clothes. No jeans.

In Delta Sigma Pi, our pledges (yes, they are called pledges ) wear the pledge pin every day no matter what clothes you are wearing. It has been awhile for me, so I don't really remember if there were any "rules" like no wearing the pin when you're drinking.. or things like that. We had the "rule" about wearing it on the garmet closest to your heart though. As far as active member badges, those were worn with professional dress only.

When I was a "new member" of ADPi, we were not required to wear our Alpha pins all day every day... and attire for our Alpha pins was the same "meeting attire" as the initiated-sister pin.

Kappa Phi Club's active pin is not to be worn with jeans, but can be worn with khakis or anything dressier. The pledge pin doesn't have to be worn everyday and basically follows the same guidelines as the active pin.

The same rule applies to the New Member pins. Chapter dress...no denim.

We give our new members red, buff, and green ribbons to wear in place of their NM pin in case they want to wear "something AGD" at school or during casual meetings. It's not mandatory that they wear it, but many do!

Our badge has to be worn in 'formal' clothes, which for us means at least slacks and a nice shirt. NM pins, however, are worn all the time unless the person is doing the three S's: sleeping, showering, or sex.
