Good luck to all the girls and their moms! I was a pnm mom last year and I think it may be more stressful for the moms than it is for the girls!! I hope it goes well for everyone on this board. My daughter is now on the other end of rush and she hates the process....having to make a snap judgment of someone. So much depends on luck on who hsppens to rush you although its hard not to take rejection personally. My hope is for all the girls to enjoy the process of meeting new people and have a good attitude.

Nope, I think we're on the same schedule as last year. Here's a post from last years thread: http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...2&postcount=27

Notice the date on the post--I think that puts bid day the first Monday after Labor Day.

The reason U of I has moved bid day to a Mondays is not for Labor Day but Rosh Hashanah.

Eta: I do believe I was around for bid day over Labor Day weekend, but I think this is the 3rd year they have moved to this schedule

How many girls last day

On average how many girls do the chapters see during this last stage?

That's really tough to say because this can really vary from chapter to chapter. I would venture to say 120-180? Talk that with a grain of salt (a lot of them).

Back in the pre-RFM days, you wanted quota at each party of every stage of the game. Now, the most competitive chapters have to cut well below that, and at a lot of schools the houses couldn't accommodate that many girls at a single party!

Got it. I cannot imagine having to spend Bid Day in class.

My girl going through said you could go to up to 4 pref parties. Is that true? She only had 2, so I think she may have been mistaken, but she seemed very sure. THat seems very, very weird.

^^I believe there are 4 party time slots to accommodate the number of PNMs. In other words, each chapter hosts 4 parties but PNMs can go to up to 3. U of I has done this before.

(In that case, the estimated number I gave to uofimom on her question is probably higher!)

Mizzou is the same. PNMs can only attend three, but we hold four parties as actives.

I think there are 4 time slots, but each sorority only hosts 3, with each sorority getting a break during one of the time slots. My daughter is in a sorority at UofI and that's what she said they did last night
