This is almost always the case. Just a part of the mutual selection process. I'm glad you got invited back to your favorites and hope you continue with another few days of fun. Hang in there and don't fret about "the call" because if you can just be yourself and be true to yourself you will find yourself a home. As always, good luck!

Don't be nervous and just enjoy your Pref night. IT is such a special time!
And I know what you mean about the roommate, when I went through Rush I had 2 roommates and neither of them rushed. In fact most the girls on my floor didn't rush. They were just blah about it. I did have 2 African American sorority girls on the floor below mine that I met in the elevator, that were super supportive so I went and talked with them every night after rush/ It was a little crazy but I really appreciated it.
My best advice is find someone in your group to spend time with after recruitment parties and avoid the roomate.

I could still get The Call for Pref, I'll find out tomorrow, but the conversations today were good and I really liked the girls.
Thank you for the advice, GC, it's all really nice. I appreciate that you guys read and even respond to my fretting and worrying.
Tonight I'm going out to dinner with some girls in my group. I know I bitch a lot about my roommate on here, but I swear we do get along for the most part. We're just different. I don't want to let onto her that I'm super frustrated at times. For example, she woke me in the middle of the night a few times on purpose which irritated me. Then I irritated her when I accidentally woke her when getting ready today and yesterday. I think she gets a little offended when I meet up with someone else.

Please keep us updated and know that your roommate issues are not uncommon. My freshman year roommate and I were like oil and water. By the end of the fall quarter (we had Fall, winter and spring back then) we could barely stand one another. Luckily she wen't home every weekend and then would up transferring at the end of Winter term and I got a wonderful new roommate for the last term! Good luck to you!

Pref is in a couple of hours, no phone call. Which is good! However, it doesn't mean I won't get one.
(Do I overanalyze this? Oh yes. It's amazing everyone else thinks I'm calm!)
Also, it is REALLY difficult to shave your legs in the tiny dorm showers. Now I have BAD bazorburn on both legs and I smacked my head on a shower hook, only minor bleeding.
FloridaTish - I hope my situation doesn't turn the same.
eta - I texted my group leader asking what time to meet and she replied so I'm going to assume I am not getting a call today. =)

Good luck

I had a really nice time tonight, I didn't expect to cry, but there was a tear or two that was shed.
Shaving in the dorms should be an olympic sport or prison camp torture.
Damn. Right in the middle of typing this the fire alarm went off and I lost my focus. At first we thought it was a radio or TV show, nope it's a fire alarm. It's pretty quiet. We all trudge outside. There was a ton of lightning out there, I'm not sure if it was really all that safe. We went back inside after a few minutes, the building wasn't on fire or anything. I'm not sure it was even a drill, someone probably just can't cook. Odd, normally the alarms cheer for me when I cook!
Of course, I'm still paranoid of getting the call on bid day.

Tree pose in yoga is great for shower stall leg shaving.

Haaaaaaah! There really isn't room to even do that! (I'd probably fall anyway.) We have a shower, then a small section in front with a bench, I just try to prop my leg on the bench. Beats just a teeny shower space.
Today is Bid Day! Of course, I'm still fretting internally about not getting one! I have hours left! Hopefully class will take my mind off of it for a bit.

I got really stretchy from propping one leg up on the wall freshman year. Plus I have much better balance on one leg than the other, so my left leg was always covered in nicks. Dorm showers really started my current habit of just shaving the ankles and knees and running the razor quickly over everything else. I miss a lot of spots, but whatever. By the time they're close enough to realize that, I've already got 'em hooked...

That's funny, angels&angles. My poor legs look and feel butchered. I have tried Nair and other hair removal creams before but they left chemical burns complete with blisters. =(
Yesterday I had nasty razorburn alllll the way up my legs, then sweating as we ran to our parties outside, my legs feel like they're on fire today.

I just stopped shaving altogether, and that worked pretty well for me.
Hope everything works out for you tonight.

If you have a bad razorburn, try babypowder, works like a charm! Happens to me all the time.. (I live in a dorm with a LOT of student so we have to shower and shave before the hot water runs out), and babypowder always helps to keep my legs presentable
