not gonna lie, i thought the same thing. and i think both could be awesome. a theme park full of yadda yadda yaddas, naps under desks and being the master of one's domain could work. i think.

I think Jim and Tammy's Heritage USA is still sitting there open. Let's do it!!
All the ride operators would either be "close talkers" or "high talkers."
You must be as tall as Mickey's head to ride.

God, I hate that damn place. That's the main reason I moved out of Arlington.

Waldenbooks still exists in my hometown in the mall; it was better than the Borders Express here, but not as good as a standalone.

As far as I know....no there is no Half Priced Books here (that is what HPB stands for, right? lol). But then again, I always just end up going to B&N, so if there is one, it's probably on one of the far ends of town, but I doubt it.
Shooot all those reasons don't compare to the fact that I'm in West TX, so that should be a reason you WANT to visit.

OMG Waldenbooks was my store!!! I'd go to the mall just for Waldenbooks. The last one we had closed down about 10 or so years ago

Well, some folks beat me to it and explained about Jerry World. Yes, that has screwed up all traffic in Arlington.

I just bought a t-shirt @ TJMAXX that says "I *heart* My Public Library". Because I really REALLY do.
I prefer B&N solely because they are closer and bigger than Borders. Also, there is a BAM near the closest Borders and they're putting in another BAM in that same mall where the BAM already is but that's too far.

I definitely prefer Borders. I like a free membership and free coupons. I have shopped at B&N only twice in the last ten years, and that was when I needed a book right away that was not available at Borders. Since Borders usually ships for free if it's not available in the store, I will wait if I can.

I loved Borders from the time I got my first rewards card @ 16. Borders in my hometown shut down. The last 2 cities I've lived in have only had B&N. B&N started to get my business when I bought a Nook in February.

This. And, to boot, they have no souls.
I support libraries in general, but my public library is tragically inadequate, so...

I feel that way about the Borders in the Friendship Heights section of DC. All of their employees seem to love books or music and are very, very knowledgeable. And friendly. One of them talks to me when I see her and I found out she was like a medic in the military. They are an eclectic bunch.
