Since Ole Miss Fall Formal Recruitment is delayed, this thread on what should go into a PNMs Recruitment Bag has been buried as most other campuses have already completed FFR. For PNMs that don't have their Recruitment Bag ready, here's the thread link:

Kimberly Dandridge is the student body president at Ole Miss, and an AA member of Phi Mu. She was released from all groups but Phi Mu before prefs, and there were whispers that alumnae stepped in at other chapters, telling them not to bid her.

Just a note... Kimbrely Dandridge was the associated student body president last school year (2012/2013). She has since graduated.

DBB do you mean after open house Phi Mu was her only invite? Or did she get released later in the week?

Asking b/c I know that a WRC may have had her on their list, but possibly she didn't have them on hers, and she would have dropped off their invite list after that point. See what I'm saying? It isn't like a pnm with a sub par gpa who gets released from everyone after Open House.

I can't remember exactly how many invites she received for first round, but it was NOT a full schedule. I want to say three, and then all but one dropped her before prefs.

All that said, she was a sophomore.

Ole Miss NPC Chapters release PNMs after Philanthropy and before Skit, another round of releases happens after Skit before Pref. There's not a lot of time to pick and choose on either side, at least here in these parts. In other words, Skit is the first (1st) invitational round of a two (2) invitational round RFM structure. Schedule:

September 8 - Ice Water Parties

BREAK

October 1 - Philantropy Parties - Day One - 4:30 to 10:20
October 2 - Philantropy Parties - Day Two - 4:30 to 9:35
PNMs Rank & Chapters Release

October 3 - Skit Parties - Day One - 4:00 to 8:00
October 4 - Skit Parties - Day Two - 4:00 to 7:10
PNMs Rank for 2nd time & Chapters Release 2nd time

October 5 - Preference Parties - 2:00 to 8:20
PNMs Rank for Last time & Chapters make any final decisions per their MSM policies and procedures.

October 6 - BID DAY!

wow. that IS different. I forgot that you'd posted that schedule, mea culpa - forgive me. So - everyone goes to two parties, then invite/release kicks in.

Yep. Real bizzare ain't it? But then when I went through FFR at LSU 31 years ago, even Ice Water (first party) was an invitational.

I would be all for that for grade cuts. It would really suck for the girls who get cut before even being seen but it would eliminate that hope immediately and save party time for actually getting to know girls who have a chance. Same number of rounds but initial cut for grades? I like it!

I'm sure this has been covered but I thought I'd bump the question: The girls visit all houses for philanthropy but can be invited to how many for skit?

Also, my daughter understands that missing class for a party results in immediate release from the process, but what about girls who have a 4 o'clock class or even a 3 o'clock class? I am envisioning girls coming to class in lilly dresses, pearls and heels then racing off with their backpack to a party.

It happens at many places. My prefs started after a chem lecture. The lecture was in a room of 200 people and there were a bunch of us all in cocktail dresses with our hair and make up done. It was pretty funny for us because our classmates kept staring out of the corners of their eyes.

Last year a full dance card was 6 for skit. I haven't heard of any changes, but then that's not my area.

Hello all!
So, I have a question about the process. I know everyone attends each house for philanthropy over the two days, but once invited begin, is it possible for a girl to only have parties on one day of skit instead of both? I'm guessing it is partially based off how many invites back from philanthropy she receives?

Yes, it is entirely possible, depending on the chapters that a PNM receives invitations from.
