Our Alpha chapter at Miami University in Oxford, OH has been in existence since 1902.

Our oldest chapter, Illinois Alpha (Monmouth) was founded in 1867 but because the college banned fraternities, the chapter was closed in 1878 but was rechartered in1928. Our oldest chapter in continuous existance is our fourth chapter, Indiana Alpha, founded at Asbury University (now DePauw) in 1870.

I believe the oldest continually running chapter at Otterbein is Sigma Alpha Tau (Owls) 1910 and for the men....maybe Pi Kappa Phi (Country Club) 1908 (could be wrong about that as I'm not a member of either). Most chapters here have had at least 1 refounding/rebirth though.

Beta at WVU isn't the oldest chapter, but it is the oldest in continuous existence here. Almost 106 yrs.

What Boston do you mean? BU closed all their chapters for about 20 years, and I didn't think that BC had Greek life.

Boston University but I'll have to check to see if this is the chapter that's never been closed. I thought it was but now I'll do some in-depth digging to make sure. Thanks!

They have these other GLO's chapters on campus as well.

I'm pretty sure our Delta Chapter was closed for a while. I think our Zeta Chapter at George Washington University is our longest continuously open chapter. They were chartered in 1906.

B U. did close out all Greeks.

LXA Founded there in 1909.

Looks like, and I might be wrong, they reopened to Greeks in 1970.

I'm bored at work and found this.

Sigma Nu's oldest continuing would be Beta at U. of Virginia (1871). Alpha was at VMI.

As a side note, I visited Kansas chapter (Nu 1884) back when I was in college. I was soooooo blown away when I walked into the formal dining area and the walls were all lined with Composites going back to the 1800's. Just wow..... (Hope they get their charter back soon )

Holy Crap! Thanks Azure. I usually keep up with all that stuff, but had not heard a thing about when they would start a comeback.

Wow, that's from Today. And they are taking the house back from Alpha Gamma Delta, who was probably in it for less then 2 years. Yipes, I bet they hardly had time to unpack.

Sigma Chi's oldest continous chapter is Lambda, University of Indiana, est. 1858. It was the 6th charter issued.

And, for those who notice, no, Lambda is not the 6th letter (it's the 11th). Sigma Chi skipped every other greek letter when establishing their charters. Their big rival at Miami was Beta Theta Pi and our founders did not want a chapter with "Beta" as its designation. After chartering the Psi chapter, Sigma Chi went back and filled in the rest of the letters.
