Something I have considered. But, we are victims of the two-party system, so I align myself with the Demos. Yes, they have alot of work to do. But, like other things, I feel that change comes from within.

A fellow LA Black and Brown for Dean committee member were discussing the candidates last night...one question to all? Why is Lieberman a Democrat?

I also became an independent when I re-registered. I wish to God that some pro-business yet moderate alternative candidate could emerge somewhere.

Unfortunatly

The two party system in America is only a way to group people and serves nothing more than a statistical number. A politician uses this to figure out who his voting public is. If there were no true party systems I think that politicians would run more to get the general vote. Whatever you think of him when Bloomberg ran for mayor of the pyramids he reached out to a broad based community because in a largely democratic city he needed the votes of Blacks and moderate democrats. And he got enough of that to pull that off.

Respectfully, bruh, I disagree.

IMO, most people in the U.S. care only about "politics" in its broadest sense, who'll best protect the nation? who'll make sure my kids have safe schools, who'll ensure the snow's removed in a timely fashion? etc... It's the much smaller passionate group, the "true believers" that care viscerally about shaping ideas and core political values that get involved in electoral/party politics.

I think that's why primary fights (R and D) are often so divisive; candidates have to pimp so hard to these "extremes" it's often too hard to get back to the broad American middle, where most people don't care all that much.

Were the percentages reversed, and more people were more passionate about political values, I think the "operation" or the parties would be better.

But that's just my take.
