And while it may not be a big deal to you Alumiyum, which is fine, it is a big deal to some. Just as you want people to respect your perspective on the situation, you need to realize that there are more ways people view it than you.

For me personally, as SigmaDiva, no, it would probably not be a big deal to me either. But, if you read SamathaBay's comments and some of the responses the GC regulars gave her, it was apparent that she said some very nasty things to people in a PM. So, while she may not have come across too bad on the board, I gathered that she said some nasty things "behind" the board. It's that stuff that people remember and talk about, and can hurt the PNMs chances.
I get it and have never even implied that it's my way or the high way, but my perspective is that if I were still active and expected every PNM to act with grace and maturity I'd be sorely disappointed. Especially since, as I said, it's not exactly uncommon for people to behave very differently on the internet than they will in person.

1. I never said you said this.

2. This is what I said. From your perspective, it may not be all that bad. From someone else's perspective it may be.

From the NPHC perspective it is a big NO-NO to even attempt to ask about membership selection concerning our orgs on the internet. We don't even entertain such questions. When they do occur, the mod for that NPHC org will lock the thread before it can go on.

From an NPC perspective, asking about MS is tolerated if the PNM asks in what a NPC member would consider polite and respectful, otherwise, we get what we just had.

So again, it is different for different people / chapters / orgs. We all just need to recognize and respect that.

That being said, as I advised earlier, I do think she should stop posting and just become a reader.

Samantha, I suggest you just stick to lurking to gather information from now on. You've said your peace, but unfortunately you won't be able to shake your first couple of threads. By all means continue to use the search function because there are many threads that can answer any questions you might have...but I suggest you just keep quiet.

You're only making that judgment based on public posts. A whole lot more happened in unsolicited PMs.

I'm confident that those who are in a position to make future decisions will make the right ones for their organizations. That's all I'm going to say about it.

I understand that but I do not feel any differently unless she made threats or went batshit crazy. Calling someone an asshole or similar because they're rude to you on a messageboard isn't really the end of the world. Like I said, were I an active and expecting every PNM to be mature and graceful under all circumstances, I'd be sorely disappointed. Most adults aren't those things a lot of the time, either. Most especially on the internet.

I inferred that from your response to me. It's a fact that different councils work differently, but in this case she was asking about NPC sororities, and I never saw her ask for membership selection details, so I'm confused as to why that has been brought up.

My giving my opinion is does not equate to disrespecting others' just because I disagree with them.

Samantha, normally I'm a peace/love/granola type, but I just read your original post on the other thread, and it's a howler. If you had indeed "read this website front and back" as you claimed, then you would have known a number of things, the least of which are: a) yes, there are members on here who are "remotely familiar with the Texas Tech recruitment process," b) the best way to get recs in the Dallas area, and finally c) that not everyone here is so "helpful and friendly."

Seriously, read more, post less.

As for your lack of knowledge about how people can be traced over the internet, it's scary. Ridiculous amounts of information have been found out about people who gave far fewer identifying details than you did.
