My Formal Apology.

To everyone I have make rude, inappropriate, uncalled for, and immature comments to I would like to formally apoligize. I took my frustrations out on the wrong things. I sent out a few PM's but this is to/for everyone. So, I took a few days to cool down and realize I was in the wrong. I take full responsibility for my comments and internet actions so again my sincerest apology. I want nothing more than to take part in the sorority experience to complete my college career like the rest of you ladies. I look up to you ladies for advice and such since you all have been through it. Thank you for the helpful advice so far.. it has sunk in and I fully understand it.

I hope you all can forgive me. :(

I don't have a dog in this hunt, but a sincere apology is a sincere form of maturity. Hope it's recognized for what it is, SamanthaBay.

Is THAT a fomerly rude PNM actually APOLOGIZING for her rudeness and admitting that she was rude?

I cannot believe my eyes.

Is it time for Haley's Comet or something?

*faints*

Or this is a message board and apologizing or not apologizing says nothing about someone's maturity. Also, I'm sure she realizes that she shared too much info and is too identifiable to not apologize. LOL.

Good luck in all of your endeavors, SamanthaBay, I'm not at ya. :)

SamanthaBay 12-01-2010 09:31 PM

No hard feelings, we agree to disagree. :) Although I still dont feel I shared too much information about myself just my personal opinion (Im not getting defensive, promise!) Tech is not set in stone just yet nor are my decisions to rush.

Youre right its a message board and apology or not, identifiable, anonymous or not, I believe in karma and felt I should apoligize about the situation in general. You all know more than I do about greek life so Im taking your word for it.

:)

I knew she didn't get it. LOL. And smiley faces don't change anything.

SamanthaBay 12-01-2010 09:42 PM

Hah, you're right I didnt get it.

They might not help but they cant hurt I suppose.

SamanthaBay, I have no idea what will happen with your recruitment but I do want to tell you about a young lady who came on this board last spring with a story similar to yours. She had lived in Europe because of her father's work and therefore was not a typical college age. She was 21 or 22, I believe, but was a sophomore classification. As luck would have it, she contacted the Houston Panhellenic, which was her hometown before she went overseas and they worked with her finding references. She pledged a very fine group at LSU this fall. So, yes it is possible. Just follow through with what you've been advised to do and who knows, it may happen for you. Good Luck!

However, that PNM followed the advice given and was very gracious. She did not leave a trail of nastiness and mayhem on the internet then come back to apologize only when she realized we were right about her being easily identifiable.

Sam, you really need to stop. Trust.

SamanthaBay 12-01-2010 10:18 PM

Alright LadyLonghorn. Like I said, I felt bad so I tried. :/

Thanks JustInterested. That makes me feel better about the age issue.

knight_shadow 12-02-2010 12:22 AM

I'm glad you took a breather and calmed down.

Read some of the old recruitment threads. There's a lot of info.

Good luck.

You did not share too much information about yourself, but you shared very unique and easily identifiable information about yourself.

If you do go to TX Tech, or anywhere for that matter, there will not be a lot of 22 year olds who lived in Spain, and will have recs from the Dallas area, with the volunteer activities you mentioned.

Trust the sorority women on this board when they say that during recruitment it will be easy to connect the dots.

I've also read a really sad outcome on a recruitment for a Florida school. The young lady came here, not as bad as you ;), but she did have some issues and people figured out who she was. Well, she tried recruitment at her first FL school and it did not go well. She actually transferred schools and had a bad outcome there too.

So, it can go either way.

Yeah, I don't think you still "get it" either.

Hopefully in time, as you read through the recommended threads and as you are preparing for recruitment, you will eventually "get it".

If I'm thinking of the same person, she was way worse over a much longer period of time.

Alumiyum 12-02-2010 07:31 AM

To be honest, I don't think this is THAT big of a deal. It isn't like she came in here and said that our mothers were hamsters and fathers smelt like elderberries. Were she going through recruitment at my school I certainly wouldn't find her to be some sort of pariah just for this if she were otherwise a desirable PNM. Samantha, I suggest you just stick to lurking to gather information from now on. You've said your peace, but unfortunately you won't be able to shake your first couple of threads. By all means continue to use the search function because there are many threads that can answer any questions you might have...but I suggest you just keep quiet.

sigmadiva 12-02-2010 09:20 AM

Alumiyum, you haven't been around here for a long time.

Trust me when I say that over the years that I've been on GC, I've seen PNMs who post with the wrong attitude, and in the end they did not have a good recruitment outcome.

Was it fair? Was it right? Who knows.

As for SamanthaBay in particular I feel that what she has shown of herself on GC she would have revealed during her recruitment. If NPC members and others can figure out how she is by just a few posts, then imagine how bad her recruitment could be in person.

I think we are trying to save her from herself. It does not seem to be working.....
