NO YOU WON'T. Legacy policies DO NOT vary from chapter to chapter. They are NATIONAL/INTERNATIONAL policies. The Alpha Chi Omega chapter at Virginia Tech has the exact same legacy policy as every other Alpha Chi Omega chapter. Either your cousin is wrong or you are misunderstanding her. In any case, if you go into recruitment with this attitude you will be setting yourself up for the same disappointing recruitment you had at your previous school. Not that you're not already doing a great job of that here. How many flipping times can people warn you about what you're doing here?

um, what?
One person cannot "get" someone into a sorority. These girls were probably girls that other sisters liked as well.
I just don't want you to think "oh my cousin says I'll be treated like a legacy so I'll have no problem getting a bid there."

Especially since her cousin graduated and will probably have NOTHING to do with MS...
Atrainer89, I would advise you to read more and post less.

This.
But she's been given that advice already, and so far . . . .

I think the girl she's talking about is the ex-roomie. I think it's two completely different thoughts mushed together. Cousin said she'd be a legacy - then talking about ex-roomie.

Wow...aren't we a little sensitive??! I said, "No offense." I can't help it if your name makes me think of a training bra. DUH!
As for being very mature, all of the posters are being very polite to tell you that you are mistaken in your ideas about AXO's legacy policy. This is to help you have a more productive recruitment process without erroneous preconceived ideas. Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

No one has judged a book by its cover. If I judged you by the name, I'd assume you had small breasts, but I have no idea what you look like and really don't care what your bra size is. I just laugh when I see your name because it triggers a memory. Quit acting like a petulant child. Is Atrainer the name your were given at birth? No. Does it define you as a person? No. So don't take it so personally.

If you're thinking it's rude to judge a book by its cover then sorority recruitment is definitely NOT for you.

Right?
In the first round, you have maybe 20 minutes to make an impression.
There's a lot of judging books by covers because that really is all you have to go on.

Okay...take a deep breath and don't take it as bashing. A lot of PNMs come on GC and ask a question. When they get an answer they weren't expecting, they see it as bashing. Reread the posts with a different tone (sometimes it is hard to tell what tone people are using in their posts since you can't hear how they would say things...all you can hear is how you are reading it in your head.) Read the posts like you are trying to give good advice to someone who really doesn't understand that what they think is true is wrong.
Everyone here really does want you to have a successful recruitment, and that includes not going into recruitment thinking that you are a legacy to AXO because of your cousin. Trust me, we know how hard it is when people think they are a shoe in for things, and it doesn't work out the way they think it should. You've been through it once before, so we really want you to have a better experience this time.

Here's some advice - SHUT UP!
You're making yourself look horrible, and what's worse is that every sorority at Virginia Tech will be able to pick out the transfer athletic training major who's cousin is a Tech AXO. We have at least one poster who is an active at Tech now, many others at Virginia schools with friends in sororities at Tech, and countless others lurking! Stop digging a deeper hole for yourself and, for the love of God, stop posting!

Deal. But only if we stay away from teal and red because then half of GC would be shit talking at our reception.
I posted what I did because it's kind of like slapping a babbling person - you need to bring them back to reality. I think laying out the facts was the slap in the face to put it in perspecitve.
