YES FOR THE MEANING OF PREJUDICE IS TO HAVE A PRECONCEIVED PREFERENCE OR IDEA, HE HAS AN ADVERSE JUDGEMENT WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE OF THE FACTS SO THAT WOULD MAKE HIM PREJUDICE. BUT WHY ARE YOU PROTECTING HIS OPINION, DO YOU NOT HAVE ONE OF YOUR OWN I RESPECT THAT HE CHOOSES TO ASSOCIATE WITH WHOM HE IS MOST COMFORTABLE I FEEL HE JUST SHOULD NOT PREJUDGE PEOPLE BY THERE ATTIRE BUT YOU YOU SHOULD JUST FORM AN ORIGINAL THOUGHT !

Ummmmmmmm no. Try again. Now this time, make yourself sound less like a jackass. Ok?

Please, enlighten us on what type of activities a band fraternity engages...

PS: The fact that you have never heard of mixers/swaps is very humorous, but then again, who can a BAND "fraternity" swap with?

1. Lose the Caps Lock.
2. Proofread
3. Everyone has prejudices and biases. Either people will agree with the foundation of your prejudice or disagree with it. When people disagree is when you get called on it and labeled a "bigot," "racist," "sexist," or whatever else.
4. Macallan has already expressed his own opinion and is now voicing his opinion of your post.

Well, there is a band sorority, Tau Beta Sigma. Theoretically, if they wanted to have mixers, they could have them with them.

Anyway, D-Psi-Ple, I'm not trying to sound like a jerk about this, I'm just genuinely curious - what do you all do, that you can tell us about? I never really knew what the KKPsi or TBS chapters at my undergrad (a PWI) did - they weren't very visible on campus. Is that different at HBCUs?

Actually, it would make me prejudiced. Prejudice is a noun, and I'm not one. Also, everyone's prejudiced. Thats why I joined a fraternity, if I had wanted to hang out with everybody in the entire world, I wouldn't have. I like people like me. I like people who share common interests, because it gives us something to talk about. Simply preferring certain types of people doesn't mean you are adversely judging others, its just personal preference. I imagine a lot of black people prefer to hang out with black people, makes sense to me. I prefer not to hang out with gothic kids, because they depress me and I think they're freakshows. I prefer not to hang out with ghetto people because I can't understand what they're talking about, and I fear they may, in fact, gat me. I don't understand what the problem is here.

I sure do love School Daze. That movie was great. It dealt a lot with AA fraternity and sorority stereotypes, as well as AA stereotypes about eachother in general. Yes sirreeee, SCHOOL DAZE was great. That's right, SCHOOL DAZE, you know the movie that this thread is talking about....
