LOL

Hey she performed that PMS song on an episode of Strong Medicine a couple of weeks ago. I LOL then and I know I will when I buy it -- maybe this weekend.

Smile HAD to pull this back up!

I was re-reading this thread, and I have to say, I'm really proud of myself. As much as it is killing me, softly, I haven't bought any CD's since that post!!! Anyway, moving on...

Librasoul, where are you???????? No posts, no IM's... where you at? I got some questions, lol, I hope you're reading this!

First of all, I heard on the radio this morning that Eric Sermon was in a car accident... broke his jaw, arm, and leg. Wasn't wearing a seatbelt. I honestly didn't know people still DIDN'T wear their seatbelts. Sparkle won't move if you don't put your seatbelt on. I don't play that. Anyway, moving on...

I just want to let yall know, I've been pulling an IDEAL08 move as CT4 likes to call it, and I've been taking notes of what I wanted to tell yall in this thread. I can't help it, my memory is shot. Anywho... (I'm in a real chatty mood today, can yall tell, lol?)

Alicia Keyes is now the most listened to artist on the radio, with her single "Fallin'," beating out Destiny's Child's "Independent Woman." I thought that was cool!! Go 'head on, Alicia, girl, wit'cho bad self!

I guess they're playing the new Angie Stone single on the radio now? I still haven't heard it since the concert, but I'm listening to the radio all day now, since the CD player on the computer doesn't work. Librasoul, what's the haps on this? Is her album release still contingent upon how her single does?

Lastly, I just heard Dawn Robinson's new single on the radio. I like it!! Unfortunately, I didn't catch the name.

So, what's goin on with yall and yall's music? What have you bought recently? What video do you like? Let's talk about some tunes.

Question Babyface

What yall think about his new single, "What if?" I like it, but I don't like his voice on the song. But I love the words. When does his CD drop, or has it already? I won't be purchasing it off the bat, but I would like to hear someone's critique.

Ideal08...I have been busier than usual just lately...

Anyhoo, as far as Angie Stone goes, she did indeed jump to J Records. Her song "Brotha" is now getting radio airplay and seems to be doing fairly well so far. Her album is still slated to drop in October, but there is not a firm date just yet.

Dawn Robinson's single is nice, her CD will be out either October or November. She kinda cuts down both En Vogue AND Lucy Pearl if you listen closely to some of her lyrics.

Alicia's "Fallin'" has been the number one single according to Billboard for-like-ever! She has now released "A Woman's Worth" to radio. It is a critical sucess, so we just need to see how it goes over with the public. Personally, that is my favorite song on the CD. My JAM!

Finally, I have not bought a CD since Mary. It has been slow, release-wise, aside from Jay-Z. I'm not really the biggest Jay-Z fan so I will just *whisper* burn it.

Is this that new songthat has Snoop Dogg on it??? That song is so wack!!! He's trying to be "hip-hop"...but it's not working for me--and I'm a real fan of his...so disappointing...

Anyway, one of the songs I like that is out right now is "Golden Boys" by Res (pronounced "Reese")...I 'm feelin' her lyrics too. I bought her CD the other day...I like some of the songs but I don't know...maybe it has to grow on me...it was only $9.99 so I didn't pay too much $$$ for it...

I also like that girl Lina...she has a song out too--I can't remember the name of it but the beat is bangin'!!!

Ideal08, I told myself the exact same thing the other day--that I was not goping to buy anymore CDs until I got a job...let's see if I can be as strong-willed as you...

that song sounds "special"--and i don't mean special in a good way. special in a "short, yellow bus" way.

the last cd i bought was syleena johnson and blu cantrell. i'm quite pleased with both. i really like "hit on me" by syleena.

on another note, has anyone heard the remix to r. kelly's "feelin on yo' booty?" that joint is TIGHT

LMAO @ "short, yellow bus" way.
IDeal, Babyface's Cd dropped about 2 weeks ago. I have not heard anything about it. My students usually give me the lowdown but I have been sooo busy lately, I could care less. Tonight, however, I chaperone the school dance sooooo I will get to see new moves and hear new tunes . I am going to ask the DJ to only play FEELING ON YO BOOTY one time!!

I love Alicia and the last CD I bought was Blu's which got heavy rotation this weekend after an argument especially "Til I'm Gone" and "Waste My Time" . I want Alicia to release her hidden track next or JANE DOE which is my THEME SONG.

Lightbulb Mary and I are back together

I bought it yesterday and so far I like it, I keep playing songs 1-9 and love them so today I plan to listen to the last 8 songs.

So far I love the songs LOVE, STEAL AWAY, PMS , no more drama ( digging the Y&R theme song integration), Destiny -- ok ok yes I like them all but I miss a MARY BALLAD!!

Well worth my $13.99 but I think 4ever and always My Life will be my favorite Mary CD.

Thumbs up

I'm playing Maxwell almost non-stop, but on the few occasions that I take it out of the CD player, I'm listening to Lina. Her whole CD is tight.

Yep...you are correct about her being on Reverb (she's the gal with the short ear-length bob haricut)...She sings a song called "It's Alright" featuring Boobonic from "Philly's Most Wanted". I am thinking about getting her CD, since I have just gotten a job (YEAH)!!

Also, I decided that I am really feeling Res's CD--I had to warm up to it (it's called "How I Do")...She has a sound that is a mixture of mostly Soul, with a slightly Alternative Rock edge...

Ideal, did you stick to your goal and not buy any CD's until after you started working?? I didn't. Oh well...I don't have the will-power....

Yes!! I stuck with it. I'm STILL sticking to it. And lemme tell you, I got my MediaPlay magazine in the mail the other day (I forget the name of it), and it had a $15 coupon in it!!! So I'm going to use that to buy that CD, Red Star. I hope that's the name of it. The one with Erykah in the commercial and the lil old man with the cane. I love that commercial.

Now, in the magazine, they said that Ketara's cd should be out this month (the girl that sang with Avant). Also, there's a group that is similar to Dead Prez, I think that they are called the Coup. I'm not sure, Soror NaturalBeauty08, do you know about them? I'm thinking of buying their cd, too. There are just so many that I want, but I have to have will power.

Still haven't bought any CD's... So...

How is the Red Star CD? I think I'm going to go and get it today. I'm trying to get the ex to get Jay-Z. CT4, sounds like a burning dinner is in the future, lol.

What music are yall feelin' right now? I'm really diggin' that DMX joint, They Don't Know. The video is really nice!

Has anyone gotten City High's CD? I wonder how it is, I liked the first two singles... and they are a product of Wyclef... I wonder...

BURN BABY BURN

Ok my student told me there is a new song by ANGIE STONE called TIME OF THE MONTH. In her words, "Why do her and Mary think we need to talk about it much less sing about it?"

LOL

BURN BABY BURN!!!
