Tunes, tunes, and more tunes (Music, Pt. 3)

Ok, I went and bought Aaliyah yesterday, and the ex got Maxwell. The Maxwell CD is tight!! I'm going to have to by that for myself. But for the time being, lol, I'll listen to his. I like the Aaliyah CD, too!!! And I am DONE buying CD's until I get a job. I really am. I've put myself on CD punishment. :( And that is so saddening, lol.

Librasoul... tell me this. Ok, this week was triple points. And if I bought Aaliyah befor the 26th, I get 2,000 bonus points. So since I bought her yesterday, during the triple point thing, do I get 6,000 bonus points? The store manager didn't know. When I asked, he said, "I don't know, that's a good question." LOL.

Okay, I have been a little tied up for the past few days...but I just wanted to say MAXWELL IS THE HOTTEST CD SINCE JILL SCOTT! And that is my unbiased opinion, LOL :D

SILENTLY (the absolute JAM), For Lovers Only, Lifetime... Goodness, there is no use for fast forward!

Ideal08...ok here it is...
You get triple points for all purchases. HOWEVER, bonus points DO NOT triple. So say you spent $12.99 on Aaliyah...you will have the equivalent of around $39 ($13 x 3) PLUS 2000 points. So in other words, no, the 2000 points doesn't triple. I guess I could have just said that to begin with huh. :D

BTW, there are a plethora of new remixes out now. My current favorite is Blu Cantrell feat. Foxy Brown...the Hit 'Em Up remix. It has kind of a reggae feel. Nice!

Also, CT4, Blu Cantrell's new single is I'll Find A Way! :D

I've heard that the Luther CD is tight. Can anyone verify this?

Miss. Mocha 08-24-2001 11:34 AM

I bought the Aaliyah CD when it first came out, and I don't really like it.

I don't know, I was expecting more, since I liked all of her songs on the Romeo Must Die soundtrack.

There are only 4 songs on the CD that I listen to, the rest of them are garbage to me.

I have Luther

The Luther CD is cool, but it's not tight, at least not to me. I guess I don't want his music to evolve, just stay the same. But there are a few 'classic' sounding Luther songs on there. The others sound too new. But that's just me, lol. I do like the CD though. But he's nowhere near constant rotation, lol.

I also bought Maxwell the day it came out and I am loving it!!! But hey as posted a while back the man can make anything and I'll buy it. I like Aaliyah's CD, it took me a little bit...I had to grow into it.:)

Ideal08 and other Michael fans...his CD has been pushed back to late October. I believe the new date is October 30.

Ideal08 08-27-2001 12:26 PM

As much as I hate to do it...

I had to come and talk about these CD's just once more.

That Aaliyah CD is just really nice. It just is. I Care 4 U is the cut right there. So is Never No More. And I Refuse. The CD is just nice. Dayum, man. I hope she recorded a bunch of stuff that they can release for us. Unbelievable. I guess 2pac will no longer be the hardest working deceased person. Because she was BUSY!!!

[SIDEBAR: I think that the remake of the movie Sparkle is gonna be called Glitter. I'm not sure, though. END OF SIDEBAR]

Man, man, man. Maxwell. Man. Man. That song, Silently. Man. All I'm sayin is, it's gon' be some babies made off of this CD. It's just a cool cd. You can just sit back, close your eyes, and vibe, Silently. ;)

No remember Mariah is Glitter, we saw the previews when we went to see Legally Blond.

They were talking about remaking Sparkle.

Y'all had to start talking about my MAN Maxwell! You mentioned babies being made? Well, I predict a surge in the world's population by the millions! That man is lyrically, spiritually, and wonderfully talented.

I never was into Aaliyah, but I have to admit she was extremely talented. I was digging her two releases off her latest album, so I might try her whole new cd out.

And I almost hate to admit, but I like the new Michael Jackson single. Has anyone else heard it? I was LMAO when I heard the intro with Chris Tucker! HI-LAR-I-OUS! You all should check it out...I can imagine the video being even funnier.

Peace and condolences to the friends, fans and family of Aaliyah...

I heard Mike's new single. It reminds me of "Remember the Time". It's aight. I need to see a video. He needs to stop all that "he he" and all that other ya-ya, noises he likes to make in between verses.

Ideal08 08-27-2001 09:58 PM

man, that is just it. When am I gonna hear MJJ's new song?? Dangitt. And the he he's make him, it's a part of his thang, man. 2D, you always need a video for somethin', lol. You needed a video for Mary, now you need a video for this. LOL, you are funny.

AKA2D '91 08-27-2001 10:08 PM

Girl, Yeah, I DO need a video. I have to tap into my MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES. ;) :p Alot of times, if I see the video, I will like the song more. It didn't happen with Mary. The song is okay, but the video is a mess. That black and grey/silver wig has got to go.

I'm a VISUAL, AUDITORY, TACTILE and KINESTHETIC learner.
I need to SEE, FEEL, and TOUCH...:D

Micheal has been he heing for over 25 years. It's the new millenniumnum NOW. Do something ELSE, MAN!

librasoul22 08-27-2001 11:56 PM

AKA2D, all I can say is LOL!!

What is the deal with Mary and the Milli Vanilli dance??

And I am STILL waiting for Mary to release a dictionary, pictionary, almanac or SOMETHIN' to explain her new vocab! Maybe it will be in her album liner.

pebbles_6... :( I regret to inform you and anyone that Maxwell is MY man. Cyber duel at 10 paces for anyone that wants to step! :p :D

As Promised...

New CD's today:

Brian McKnight - I am very dissapointed at this effort. Maybe it's just not my taste, but I am not feeling this CD at all.

Krayzie Bone - really not my flava, so I am not gonna give a biased opinion.

MARY J. - Okay...I am really swallowing my pride for this one, because Mary's CD is TIGHT! I was the biggest skeptic, but there are only a few truly up-tempo songs on the CD (that includes Family Affair). I am not familiar with titles yet, but my favorite cut off the album is a track that samples the Young & the Restless theme song (leave it to Mary!! :D) . That is the JOINT, y'all!!! Also I like a song on there called PMS (yes, it is self-explanatory! :p) Don't get me wrong, there are a few tracks that I listened to that probably coulda been left off, but I am definitely buying this CD tomorrow! I will come back with song titles for the bootleggers! ;)
