I'm hosting a small shindig at my place.... and since I'm not one to cook, I'm getting food from Corner Bakery Cafe because their sandwiches are yummy, and doing the usual chips/queso/salsa/spinach dip/etc, beer, wine, and other drinks.
Someone suggested I just order a bunch of pizzas because it's cheaper, but really, I'd rather spend the money and order good food b/c it's better for you and tastes better anyway.
I'm not a fan of either of the teams playing, but I thought it would be fun to get together with a few friends

Get this...
I am attending a party at a couple's home -- 50 people invited -- a catered event -- lots of TVs and at halftime, the couple plans to surprise everyone by getting married!
I know only because I helped get the minister.
Gee, I hope I don't miss all of the good commercials!

I promise it will be a good ol' Protestant "ceremony" -- less than 15 minutes!

I'm going to snuggle up with hubby (who is getting back from a business trip today!) and watch stupid Steve Martin movies... right now I've got "The Jerk" and "The Man with 2 Brains" picked out.
I hate football!

I'm not trying to throw stones because this is what I plan to do also, but doesn't saying, "I only watch the Super Bowl for the commercials," kind of like saying, "I only read Playboy for the articles"?

My son is begging GEN Alum and me to let him skip CCD tomorrow night so he won't miss his beloved Patriots. It's not going to happen.

I was raised this way too. And it's why I stopped going to church as soon as I was able to. Seriously.

H and I were both raised this way as well. We have never stopped going to church or maintaining the obligations of our faith. Seriously.
