Apparently the UK released satellite images showing that their sailors were in fact in Iraqi waters by about 2 miles.

Also Iran said that they'd be releasing the one female sailor out of the 15 held.

I'll look for news articles later, I heard this on the radio

Question Question

Not to be completely stupid: But how does Iran have any kind of water for a navy worth doing something?

I realize that... I guess the people over there don't realize how crappy it makes them look though.

THey are calling for the withdrawl of troops from Iraq (I'll be honest - I'm a little ignorant here, why does Iran give a furry squirrel what happens in Iraq? It's a completely different country) which is what those terrorist groups did right before they behead their detainees.

Barbaric much?

And then they get all pissy that the movie '300' portrays them as a bunch of hooligans.

Hmmmmm

I highly doubt those marines/sailors wrote any of those letters out of their own free will.

I feel that all of this is a pretext to the next war. I'm not buying any of it.

There's also a former FBI agent missing in Iran. http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory?id=3001577

Do you realize how our invading Iraq looks to the rest of the world? Its the same political games all countries play, they weight the pros and cons and decide whats in their best interest.

Why does Iran want troops pulled out? Because there is a long and bitter history between Iran and Iraq (please refer to the Iran - Iraq war if you are not too familiar with it), with no US troops they can control the area better.

Also please check your PMs.

Just because Iran is not Arab does not mean that their "PR" is not directed to the "street".

Yes I do. I'm not a fan of the "war" in Iraq, and a search of my posts in this forum might show that.

I'm not sure why Iran should be "control"ing Iraq... since that's where they want our troops pulled out of? If they want to be all territorial about their water, they should probably take a look at the land borders and realize they shouldn't be trying to control a whole other country. And FWIW, I don't like that we have US troops there either, but we can't just suddenly bring all the troops back and just leave a big mess there. Then other countries would really think we're the Big Bad Westerners because we went in, made a mess, and didn't even stay around to help fix it.
