While my little sister and I are close, she bonded more with her other big (my big and essentially her grand big..it's an icestuous tree, what can I say?). She also bonded more with one of my pledge sisters. That pledge sister's little and I have bonded like CRAZY though. I feel bad, kinda, but at the same time, as long as both littles are happy and finding their place. Then again, my big and I didn't become close until this year, way after my pledge period.

Josh--Great story man!
I'm really close to my little and my grandlittle, even though they aren't that close (my lil had to transfer after she got hers) so I'm basically bridging the gap now, heh.

While I understand that some fraternities require new members to interview initiated members as part of their new member education program, the NPC sororities don't require new members to seek out initiated members.
Instead, all members are encouraged to mingle and mix, with the "older" members taking most of the responsibility to help acclimate new members to sorority life. Through retreats, sisterhood events, campus experiences, date parties, etc., the elder members mentor the newers ones to encourage bonds of friendship.
I encourage members to seek friendships within all the classes, and not just their own pledge class! You can form incredible bonds with people in your chapter, and a chapter that works for the betterment as a whole, rather than one divided among "pledge classes" is one that will make it through the long haul.

I agree, i connected with some pledge when i was active, The guy was the type of guy everyone hated because he was outspoken, and it was like how i was when i was a pledge. I ended up adopting him i was lil bro and now he is rush chair and he is going to do a lot of great things with our chapter. Even though people make fun of it, hell it is a true brotherhood bond. I think it is good for one new guy to connect to an old guy in the house
