Today in class my students were talking about this Makayla Maroney meme thing and they thought it was hilarious. And apparently Makayla follows the site herself.

She did make it clear on the Today show that her expression was disappointment with herself for making the errors she did, not disappointment with the Silver. I think that's an important distinction. She knew she didn't perform at her best.

She was disappointed with her performance which granted her 2nd place which granted her a silver which therefore means she is disappointed and fixing her face about the silver medal.
LOL. People need to stop bullshitting.

I can see being upset with yourself for making a major error like falling on your butt during the Olympics games in the event that is your strongest.

I can too. But when you're on that podium with the medal and the flowers and someone else's national anthem is playing, you deal with it until you're off the podium.

Perhaps they should, because they compete all the time, but I don't think I could.. especially at age 16.

I too understand being disappointed with performance. It is still the case that believing that you did not perform well implies that those who won 1st place were not just excellent--they simply were better than you who performed badly. LOL. Either way, you are disappointed with winning 2nd place. LOL.

She clearly was pissed about getting a silver. That is a spoiled, "I deserve the gold" look if I've ever seen one, and that is why it has been so funny. She can try to save face, but we all know what she's thinking.

I need a "McKayla Maroney is not impressed" meme in regards to Romney's choice of running mate...
