Tri Delta's membership selection process is private.

I'm going to be honest, if you are picky, you'd better become unpicky very soon because you will not have as many options as your typical freshman PNM is going to have.

Being open-minded is a good thing. It's not a good idea to go through recruitment only wanting certain sororities because those may not even be interested in you.

If you're going to "be picky" and exclude chapters or only focus on certain ones, prepare to go without a bid (especially as a junior).

Good luck.

Its just preference, Ive been trying to do my research and look into sororities that I think I would be compatible with, I dont want to just jump on to whoever gives me bids is all. If I even get bids.

You have alot to learn.

Recruitment is a mutual selection process, hun.

It unfortunately is not all about who you feel you're compatible with.

You can research all you want. Or think you're compatible all you want.

They have to feel the same in order for you to get the invite.

By saying "I only like these 3 or 4" you're cutting out everyone else. And who knows, the ones you like the most may drop you on the first day.

and FYI: you only receive one bid at the end of the process.

I would highly suggest educating yourself on UT recruitment before August.

But it's all about what she wants! It pains me so much to see a Junior with no ties to chapters have such a sense of entitlement. I know how horribly wrong things are likely going to go for her. And then she will be back here telling everyone the Texas Greek system is full of beotches.

Every girl will have them. Several for each chapter. They're more of a standard than anything.

Everyone has really good recs. It only sets you apart from those few poor ill-informed women who rush without them.

I know this could be a touch subject and I apologize in advance. But how much does ethnicity play a factor in choosing? Ive looked at a few chapter websites and have noticed a lack of diversity which is understandable, however im wondering is that by choice or it just happens to be that way

Do you have friends in chapters? That's a good thing to have as a junior.

When it comes down to it, the chapters are choosing between you and a freshman (who will be in school for 4 years).

They're going to go with the freshman 99% of the time.

Since she's looking at web sites to draw conclusions about membership composition, my guess would be no......

Not saying that you have to be all "OMG GET ME INTO YOUR SORORITY!"

But I think if a chapter is going to take a junior over a freshman, it is likely going to be a girl that alot of members know/like.

A junior also has to have alot of leadership and campus activities on her resume to compete with freshmen with TONS of activities from HS.

And also, good grades. Many many girls will have perfect GPAs from HS.

I wonder does UT still have the "free junior" thing? Where the number of juniors doesn't count into the quota
