I thought the last couple seasons of Survivor were "meh" and it had fallen off of my "must see" list of tv shows. This season though, I'm in, full throttle. If I can't watch it Thursday night, I'll be watching it on the DVR on Friday at the latest. I think I'll be frequenting the alt.tv.survivor newsgroup this season too.

Yay!! Can't wait for tonight!
I agree that some of the "villains" are not really villanous - but, many are entertaining. Can't wait to see Russel's WTF expression when he meets Coach...
Some of the previews make it look like many of the challenges are brutal. I think that the last few seasons have had some awfully dangerous looking challenges, it's just a matter of time before someone is SERIOUSLY injured in one. I prefer the puzzle type challenges or strenght/endurance, the brutish ones, like full on tackle football in mud seem a bit lopsided toward the men. I really don't want to watch a woman getting decked by a man (or even another woman) on TV.

Best first challenge of any Survivor ever.
Oh - I completely take back what I said on page one. Sandra is definitely on the right tribe.

Yup. One of the Survivors even said so. Though I did love Cirie's flying choke. And Russel is already up to his old games.

This season rocks so far.
Rooting for James and Russell (and Candice, just because she's a med student). But I also like JT and Colby.....ahhhhhhh.

I got to see the last 3/4 last night, but I missed that first challenge.
I laughed when they were joking about Amanda finally answering a Tribal question right. I hope she makes it to the end again. I don't know if I actually want her to win, though, because she's sort of like the Susan Lucci of Survivor (although even poor Susan finally won her Emmy).

I admit, I don't like the super physical challenges. If someone dislocates a shoulder and someone else breaks a toe (in three places, was that a joke??) in the first leg of the first challenge, there is something very wrong. I much prefer things like the immunity challenge that have a mix of physical with mental. And sure, the villains made it a bit mental the way they stalked people until a bag was found... but I'm thinking more of the mental challenges that don't involve broken bones or dislocated joints.
But... it is fun watching these long-time Survivors go at it again. I was surprised to see Jerri & Coach get along so well, and Rob & Sandra too. They just aren't people I would've pegged for teaming up. I hope the previews from next week don't mean that someone has an early exit? Not to spoil for those who haven't seen it, but I don't want to see that person go just yet.

I kind of liked Coach too. It's almost as if he watched his season and realized what a doofus he looked like.
I like Sugar, but she had to be annoying as heck keeping everybody up and following poor Colby around the shelter like a puppy. I'm sure he's glad she's gone.

I had the thought today that it would have made it 10000x more interesting had they brought Amber back on the Heroes team. You have to admit - a husband and wife on opposite sides could turn out some really good footage.
I liked Coach, too. Although he was a little clueless when he said "How do you know what my Mantra is?" Umm...you were on TV? Do you remember that, or was that such an insignificant event in your action-packed life that it just slipped your mind??
I'm going back to watch the part I missed in a minute, so there could very well be an ETA on this post.

Yeah - good idea having Amber back on the Heroes team! I bet they tried, but someone had to stay home with the kids.

They're millionaires - they can afford some childcare. Although that does get kinda sticky with the clause about not conspiring to share the money.
